I was going for the 80's version - but you are correct Bobo. Extra credit for someone who names the 80's artist who remade it!

Lol - hmm, well the credit would have been your name besides yours on the answer - so technically you don't gain anything new! :)

I always wonder how to define the "original" version in cases like these, because Air Supply released it earlier than Jennifer Rush, but Rush co-wrote the song. To make matters worse as to which artist I was supposed to guess, Branigan had the biggest hit with it in the 80s here. That's when I decided that all three would suffice. :)

Well you learn something new every day. :) When did Air Supply release the song and did it do quite well?

To be honest - I found out quite recently that Laura Branigan had covered the song in the 80's. I don't think the song was as big a hit here in the UK for her, well at least not as big as Jennifer Rush's version

Here, the Air Supply single charted August, 1985 from an '85 album simply called Air Supply. It only managed to peak at #68. Jennifer Rush's hit here in early 1986 and did only slightly better, reaching #57. Branigan's single was either late 1987 or early 1988 and went as high as #26. Actually, the most popular version Stateside was Celine Dion's 90s cover which topped the charts.
