Subject: 80s Number Ones 1980-1984 ~ COMPLETE

Written By: Criz on 08/29/02 at 07:48 a.m.

All of the lyrics here are collected from songs which were Number Ones in the 1980's ( British number ones - according to theofficialcharts.com and the no1 s music archive on the net). Beacuse most of these are quite obvious - I have chosen very small bits of the songs

1980:
1. I'm not that kind of girl Taoist

2. What you give is what you get Gambo

3. I'm happy, hope your happy too Indy Gent

1981:
1. Now I run from you Taoist

2. There's a big enough umbrella ReddyRules

3. I still love you Phil

1982:
1. So many times it happens too fast Phil

2. Baby look at me Phil

3. Pack of party poppers Taoist

1983
1. She made me nervous crazydon

2. I need you more than ever Phil

3. Put on your red shoes Taoist

1984:
1. She's making a fool of you ReddyRules

2. Why don't you use it? Phil

3. Live those dreams ReddyRules

1985 to 1989 are coming up soon. Have fun :)

This sounds like Blondie, The Tide is high but I think the correct lyric is "I'm not the kind of girl, who gives up just like that"

I am going for the Blondie song - Ialways get teh lyrics from just listening to the songs, so I sometimes make minor mistakes :)

...though thinking about it, is 1982 #2 Fame by Irene Cara?

(I think I've probably done enough on this one ;-))

#2 is familiar but I'll think about it and give someone else a chance ;)
It's nice to get a quiz from both my era and my country!

Thank you.  I saw the quiz and had the line playing over and over in my head for an hour before I remembered it was the Jam.  Now I can go back to having the theme song from the Facts of Life play in my head.  Doh!
