Subject: Songs with a connection - all connected now!

Written By: philbo_baggins on 10/03/02 at 04:32 a.m.

OK, you've got all of them now - so what's the connection?
They're all songs I've done parodies to (to which I have written parodies?) mniKenny (though I have a feeling Taoist spotted the link kind of quickly ;-))

1. Spring clean for the May Queen
  Stairway to Heaven Taoist

2. Your mind is not your own
  Addicted to Love Taoist

3. I've seen him drink his bath as well
  The Window Cleaner Indy Gent

4. In a cowslip bell I lie
Ariel's song from A Midsummer Night's Dream Taoist

5. Vegetable, animal, and mineral
  The Major-General's Song Taoist

6. They're falling one by one
Out In The Fields Taoist (again)

7. Stone me and spit in my eye
  Bohemian Rhapsody FBVP

8. I should have thrown away the key
I Will Survive Tao (yet again)

9. Where the grass is green
  Paradise City Jonman

10.Bouncing to the left and to the right
  Big Balls FBVP

...The tiebreaker is: what do nine of the above have in common?

1. Stairway to heaven, Led Zeppelin. - Revenge
2. Addicted to love, Robert Palmer - Allergic to cats
6. Out in the fields, Gary Moore - Out in the fields
8. I will survive, Gloria Gaynor - I will survive

lol....I know what they have in common but I'll leave something for other ppl to do   ;D

Correct.

I'm not going to be able to post anything till next Thursday (going to prison in Liverpool again), so if anyone guesses the next two, you'll just have to ask Taoist if you're right... he'll probably be able to guess.

Turned out nice again*.

*That's a clue, BTW

Hmm, can't add anything useful except that Ariel was in The Tempest.

D'Oh!  Can't believe I didn't spot that...

Yes, IG, it is George Formby's Window Cleaner

Yes, Rob, there's no need to hide your light under a bushel: #5 is the Major-General's song from Pirates of Penzance

...anyone else had a guess about the connection between them all?

I was going to write a Dilbertian Rhapsody, and emailed Scott Adams asking for permission to use Dilbert in a parody.  Unfortunately, he basically said that United Media hold the Dilbert copyright, and don't like Dilbert characters being used... I'm not sure whether to ditch the BR parody, and an "Itchycoo Park" parody based on my (and pretty much everyone's) favourite Dilbert strip - you know the one where the PHB's laptop turns out to be an etch-a-sketch; or whether to publish and be damned, so to speak.
