Subject: Help figure out Quiz answers

I'm trying to figure out how they got the answers to these two questions that I took on a Christmas Quiz.
1) What is the degree difference between the "Heatmiser" and the "Snowmiser"? Answer: 111
2) How many miles is it from Detroit to the North Pole? Answer: 2889

I can answer #1. If you saw the special "The Year Without A Santa Claus", there were these two brothers called Snow and Heat Miser. Snow brags in his song that he is Mr. 10 Below , while his brother Heat sings that he is Mr. 101 (degrees). Thus, Snow Miser is 111 degrees colder than his brother.

Thank you so much for your help. My brain was scrambling to try and figure that one out.
Any suggestions where I might be able to find the answer to the other question?

I checked the answer for 2.
It looks about correct (based on latitude)
I have no idea where this answer may have any other relevence
