Subject: Traditional Christmas Carol Lyrics Quiz (Put Away)

Written By: Indy Gent on 12/25/02 at 02:27 p.m.

These are all lines from traditional Christmas carols. I just need the titles. No limit.

CL 1. And ransom captive Israel. O Come Emmanuel

DW 2. And He shall reign forever and ever. Handel's "Messiah" (Hallalujah Chorus)

BB 3. They look-ed up. The First Noel

BB 4. Troll the ancient Yuletide carol. Deck The Halls

SS 5. Five golden touks. (Okay, this one isn't so traditional, but it's a parody of a very popular traditional carol.) 12 Days Of Christmas-Doug & Bob McKenzie

CL 6. Peace on Earth, Good will toward men. It Came Upon A Midnight Clear (also would have accepted "I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day")

BB 7. Westward leading, still proceeding. We Three Kings (Of Orient Are)

BB 8. Hush, hush, see how the Child is sleeping. Bring The Torch Jeanette Isabella

BB 9. When I was a sinner. Go Tell It In The Mountain

DW 10. Down to the village. Frosty The Snowman

DW 11. You can do the job while you're in town. Winter Wonderland

CD 12. Folks dressed up like Eskimos. The Christmas Song

CD 13. Heavenly hosts sing "Allelujah". Silent Night

BB 14. So bring me the figgy pudding. We Wish You A Merry Christmas

LB15 15. God and sinners reconciled. Hark! The Herald Angel Sings

CB98 16. When we've gone astray. Tidings of comfort and joy. God Rest Ye (You) Merry Gentleman

CD 17. The hopes and fears of all the years. O Little Town Of Bethlehem

CL 18. Everywhere there's a feeling of Christmas. Silver Bells

LB15 19. Rooty toot toot and rummy tum-tum. Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

LB15 20. Haste, haste to bring Him laud. What Child Is This?

SS 21. From now on our troubles will be miles apart. Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

SS 22. If only in my dreams. I'll Be Home For Christmas

CB98 23. Giddy up, giddy up. Sleigh Ride

BB 24. Like a bowl full of jelly. 'Twas The Night Before Christmas

BB 25. Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas. Carol Of The Bells

#12 is "The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole.
#13 is "Silent Night."
#17 is "O Little Town of Bethlehem".  (No, not "O Little Town of Beckley-hem" as my little sister used to sing.  Go to amIright and look up stories "T" for this explanation.)

1. Oh Come Oh Come Emmanuel (my favorite Christmas song!)
6. It Came Upon a Midnight Clear
18. Silver Bells

3 for 3 Bobo, with an asterisk for spelling on 3. (Noel, not Nowell)
I needed to be a little Scroogy on the 3 answer limit because most of these are pretty easy, and I was afraid someone would answer all of them correctly. But I might lift it later on.

Quoting:
3. The First Nowell
4. Deck The Halls
7. We Three Kings

Only three? How could you?!
