Subject: Reverse quiz - you ask the questions

Written By: maddog167 on 02/13/03 at 05:57 p.m.

I don't know if this has been tried before but how about if I choose a "specialist subject" and you then post questions here on that subject for me to answer?

The objective would be for me to keep going until someone comes up with a question that stumps me...probably won't take long! If it takes off, others could choose their specialist subject and we'll see who gets the best score.

So my specialist subject is, ahem, Joan Jett and/or The Runaways.

Come on, hit me with your best shot  :)

Okay !

"Who was the ex-Victorian State Premier that mimed to I Love Rock and Roll on a national Australian TV sketch comedy show" ?

Or if that was a little too 'Aus-local' for you maddog, how about this :

"What traditional tune did JJ sing in the lamentable movie 'Class' " ?

"...and with that 98 mph delivery, Brett Lee once again rips through the heart of the English batsman's defence. And as he trudges wearily back to the pavilion....."

or in other words, sheesh, I don't know, I don't know any ex-Victorian state premiers and I've never seen that film!

As a wild guess, was it "The Little Drummer Boy", which is the only sort of traditional tune I've heard recorded by Joan Jett?

OK, here's a couple for you:

1. Who wrote the song "I Love Rock 'n' Roll"?

2. Which song does Joan Jett sing in Shrek?
Supplementary: who's written a parody of it at amiright? ;-)

Hi philbo

1. The song was written by Jake Hooker of The Arrows, I believe. He was married to Liza Minelli's half sister, Lorna Luft, and may still be married to her for all I know!

The Arrows were a three piece rock/pop band who had a weekly TV show on UK kids television in the mid 70s. Their biggest UK hit was "Touch Too Much". Actually, I have a feeling "I Love Rock And Roll" may have been on the b-side.

Joan saw them performing the song on the TV show when she was touring England with the Runaways in 1976.

2. "Bad Reputation".

Who's written a parody of it? errrr - you!?

Which former member of the Runaways appeared in a film alongside Patrick Bergin, Ben Stiller, Richard Farnsworth and Kristy Swanson, and what was the name of the film?

What about if you don't know about that special subject?
Can you choose another one if you don't know that subject?

Thanks for the question Goreripper.
That's Lita Ford in "Highway to Hell". Vicki Blue appears briefly in "This is Spinal Tap" if you look closely.

Hi Ripp

If you choose any old subject it's unlikely that I'll be able to answer the questions.
However, if you feel like starting your own reverse quiz with your own specialist subject you could challenge people to put questions to you on that.

Yes she does. In fact it's amazing who you'll find lurking in that film if you watch. I'd forgotten that Fran Drescher and BIlly Crystal are in it until I watched it again last week.
