It was more that I remember at the time that "My Sharona" was a hit record there was a lot of debate in the music press about whether they were "punk rock" or "new wave". well, New Wave is kinda punk rock..it is just a more poppyer,. radio friendly version of it.....the knack I guess were more New Wave, but I see where she got punk from.....either way, the knack suck, IMO
