Hola!

Two definites and a possible from me...

#6. Y Viva Espana - Sylvia
Was for years, to our eternal shame, the theme tune for the Brit abroad...this is not the Sylvia that done 'Pillow Talk', but a rather attractive-ish Swedish lady (heaven knows what happened to her...)

#11. Spanish Eyes - Al Martino
A song, to my eternal shame, that I brutally attacked in a karaoke session (let's not go there!)

(A rough stab, but I'm sure the words fit!)
#16. Bamboleo - Gypsy Kings
Best experienced when fuelled with drink! Not that I'd know, of course!

...and I'll take the other half of Lesley's answer...
#18. (Artist) The Sandpipers

I realise it's quite a way off, but hope you and the family have a great time...

It's correct Indy, the song was a hit (at least in the UK) under the band name Mink DeVille.

according to my Spanish-English dictionary, this means "Hey Rosita! Where are you going with my chariot, Rosita?" ???

#9 is Las Ketchup's The Ketchup Song. I remember when that was No. 1 and they were all dancing on Top of the Pops, waving their hands about, looking like they were stoned out of their minds... It was stuck in my head for weeks!

2 for 2 Ethan :)
Thanks for the "Macarena" translation...as for The Ketchup Song, I think that particular line is and he dances (and he dances) and he sings...but as for what "buidibipi" (which crops up in the chorus) means I have no clue...I love the dance though, I am looking forward to embarrassing my kids on the campsite with my enthusiastic but uncoordinated drunken rendition on holiday this summer...

Thanks for the correct answers, information and entertainment Paul! Yes, Sylvia Vrethamer I believe was her name, how on Earth she ended up passing herself of as a Spaniard to us Brits in the 1970s I have no idea.

I believe that this lyric from "Bamboleo" goes Because my life, I prefer to live it like this. My wife is a big fan of Latin American music, when she first heard this song by the Gypsy Kings (at a party in a posh house in Hampstead), she went bananas and insisted on it being played again and again for her to dance to!

You're correct @sskicker, unfortunately you were beaten to it by EthanMawyer. As for being stoned out of their minds, I'm not sure about that...apparently they are 3 sisters and their father is a renowned flamenco musician in Spain!

Can anyone enlighten me, is that Lambada lyric in Spanish or Portugese?
