Hiya mandamoo  :)

#20 is We Don't Talk Anymore - Cliff Richard
#29 is Talking In Your Sleep - The Romantics (whatever happened to them? This was a great song, reminds me of uni...)

I'm pretty embarrassed to 'fess up to #20 but I blame it on my girlfriend at age 16 who was madly in love with Cliff Richard, which
I thought was pretty weird even at the time given the 25 year age gap...

Hi maddog  :)

Spot on !  The Romantics only had hits here with that song and 'What I Like About You'.  Both great songs ! As for Cliff, I wasn't keen on it the first time around, but it's grown on me over the years.....and he was pretty cute back then. ;)

Not sure what became of them, but the song's well remembered...

It was huge almost everywhere bar here (surprise!), until Bucks Fizz got hold of it...!!

Hi manda...just enough brain space to squeeze these in...

#9. 'My Coo-Ca-Choo' - Alvin Stardust...dear ol' Alvin was getting on even when he recorded this...thirty years on and he's still doing it - bless...!!

#14. 'Money Honey' - Bay City Rollers...(gulp!) - my eldest sister queued up for hours to get a copy of this on the day it was released...! She shouldn't have bothered...it's not their best effort by a long chalk...

#25. 'Steppin' Out' - Joe Jackson...great song...!

Hi Paul.....spot on !

So Alvin's still around hey ?  That was his one and only hit here and it went to #1 !  It's one of my all time faves ! :)

As a BCR fan in my (much) younger days, I have to agree they had better.

Yes, you'll normally find him on those 70s 'package' concerts, where half-dozen acts are squeezed into one show, and he's still dressed in leather with HUGE platforms...! He managed quite a few hits here (including a #1, but not with this), but this remains his best and most well-known...

Yikes !  Yep, I know the shows ! There's one doing the rounds here in a few months time !

Don't ask me where I heard this gem, but somewhere along the line I was told that Alvin was the 'face' and Pete Shelley was the voice behind it !?  I think I must've dreamt it..... :P

Well, Pete certainly wrote it - but his original intention was early Brit-rocker Marty Wilde, who politely declined, but remembered a bloke from his early 60s touring days...Shane Fenton...who duly did record it and with a swift name-change (an obvious mick-take of Gary Glitter), became Alvin...

...anyway, apologies for hijacking the quiz with that...I've been running this one through my head over and over...

It's unlucky for some, (well, for me at least...!) - #13...

I've had a couple of near scrapes with it, but it's just not happening...probably paralysed the grey matter pulling Patti Smith out...!

What I need is some soothing music to help me focus...Here! Alvin's Greatest Hits should do it...!
