6. International politics: Of the eight members of the G-8 industrial nations, the one whith the smallest population. What is Canada?- Paul

7. Classic literature: "Did I request thee, maker, from my clay to mould me man" is the epigraph to this 1818 novel. What is Mary Shelley's Frankenstein?- Bobo

8. Historic names: In 1899, he was released from Devil's Island and pardoned for "treason under extenuatiing circumstances." Who is Alfred Dreyfus?-stingr22

Excellent quiz, Cat...very difficult, a lot of those...

I should know the answer to #3., but the name's not quite 'biting' at the mo'...

But after churning the grey matter around a bit, let's hope this will fly...

#6. What is Canada?

I'm diggin' this quiz. Maybe I'll be the next Ken Jennings. We can always dream, hmm..?

7. "What is Mary Shelley's Frankenstein?"

I know the identity of the other guy, but I will hold.

Hi there Cat

I'm guessing that #8 is "Who was Papillon?" (don't know his real name) - I saw the film with Steve McQueen in the title role
and Dustin Hoffman as his friend for many years on the penal colony.

I guess that his name was Henri Chartierre, but I was wrong. So your answer might be accepted.
