Hi Janine...shall we cut some rug...?

#2. 'Let's Face The Music And Dance' - the whole world and his wife have more or less had a go at it, but the definitive one is by Nat 'King' Cole...

#7. 'Resurrection Shuffle' - Ashton, Gardner and (gotta be careful here...!) D_yke...(class song...!)

#9. 'Do The Hucklebuck' - once again, tons of 'em including Frank Sinatra (!) and Chubby Checker...the one I know and love was by Coast To Coast

Oh let's!  :D

As usual, your 3 are 100% correct and I'm sure you'd know a dozen more ;)

I really like Diana Krall singing "Let's Face The Music And Dance" but so many others have had a go!

"Resurrection Shuffle" is a favourite of mine.  There was an Aus version by Lobby Lloyd and The Coloured Balls (wait til some of the blokes see that).  :D

"The Hucklebuck" is another childhood fave.  To be honest I don't know whose version we had on a 45.  Not unless an Australian had a go at it - which we quite often did :)

#22 is "Dancing in the Street." Come to think of it, I don't know who did the original. I know the Mamas and the Papas version, but I don't know if it the original (don't think so).
#26 is "I Could Have Danced All Night," from the musical My Fair Lady. I had to sing this stupid song for a middle school chorus concert, and our teacher insisted on making us pronounce it "dawn-ced".

Hello Charlie  :)

#22 is correct - Karen got the right artist as did Indy.  (Don't really know who at award that point to ???)

Jolly good show old chap - you got "I Could Have Dawn-ced All Night"  ;D  from My Fair Lady.  Julie Andrews is the artist but it has just recently been covered by Jamie Cullum.

^^^ That lot is correct.  Doesn't matter that you're over - I've given you equal credit with Karen because she got in first with David Bowie & Mick Jagger which is also correct.  Martha & The Vandellas was who I had in mind though!

To help wolf, "Hippy Hippy Shake" was recorded by the Georgia Sattelites.
BTW, My Fair Lady starred Audrey Hepburn, not Julie Andrews. And if you don't believe me, I'll get my sister in her to confirm. (She's the biggest Hepburn fanatic alive!  ::) )

Hi Doc - I've never heard Georgia Satellites sing "Hippy Hippy Shake" - I'm after the original artist.

I didn't say Julie Andrews starred in "My Fair Lady"  I said that she was the artist that I knew (et al) that sung "I Could Have Danced All Night".  Audrey Hepburn did not actually sing anything in "My Fair Lady" her voice was dubbed by Marni Nixon.

I think the song was written by Russell Smith of the Amazing Rhythm Aces and is on the "Too Stuffed to Jump" LP from 1976.  I've not heard the English version myself but I'm glad someone had the good sense to record it again.

I think I was about 16 or 17. Not cool to buy singles by The Nolans at that age but it did have a picture sleeve and yes, I did fancy Colleen Nolan, who still appears occasionally on British TV as a presenter but is much larger now than back then!

"Dance Me To The End Of Love" - I first heard it on an English TV series (can't remember which one) and have loved it ever since.
