Subject: TWO-Hit-Wonder Quiz! (70's,80's & 90's)

Written By: Doc Brown on 03/29/05 at 12:32 am

This might be my most challenging quiz yet! I've given the lines, now try to tell me the artist & title, but for an extra point can you give the artist's one other hit? Limit's 3, think hard now!

1. "And that cannot be stolen."
ladybug - Midnight Oil, "Dead Heart" ("Beds Are Burning")

2. "Morning came into my room."

3. "looking for a little affection,"
maddog - Tone Loc, "Funky Cold Medina" ("Wild Thing")

4. "I felt the beat of my mind go"
Phylo - Al Stewart, "Time Passages" ("Year Of The Cat")

5. "Now I wind up staring at an empty glass"
ladybug - Greg Kihn Band, "Breakup Song" ("Jeopardy")

6. "There's a pack of cigarettes"
Indy - Rupert Holmes, "Him", ("Escape" a.k.a. "The Pina Colada Song"!)

7. "I wasn't looking for true love,"

8. "You keep me warm at night!"

9. "Do you wanna see a grown man cry?"
Gis - John Parr, "Naughty Naughty" ("St. Elmo's Fire")

10. "A quick hit, that's your game,"
wolf - Jermaine Stewart, "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off(Cherry Wine)" (&the other hit?)

11. "I trace you private number, baby"
nally - Dead Or Alive, "You Spin Me Round" ("Brand New Lover")

12. "See, 'cause that's where the party's at,"
Tanya - Technotronic, "Pump Up The Jam" ("Move This")

13. "No one could ever know me,"
nally & Indy - Rembrandts, "I'll Be There For You" ("That's Just The Way It Is")

14. "That the fire in your heart is out."
Gis - Oasis, "Wonderwall" (& the other hit?)

15. "Some romantic fantasy."

Current Score: Gis - 3, maddog - 2, wolf - 1, ladybug - 4, nally - 3, Phylo - 2, Tanya - 2, Indy - 3.
Current Leader: ladybug

Doc

14. Oasis - Wonderwall.
As they are are huge in the U.K and have had loads of hits I haven't a clue which one might be their 'other' American hit.I have to say I am gobsmacked that they have only had two hits in the U.S  :o

9. John Parr - Naughty Naughty

so I guess the other hit must be St Elmo's Fire.

You're right on the title, wolf. But it's not Aretha Franklin, she's certainly no two-hit wonder in the states.
But "I Will Survive"? froze, that was Gloria Gaynor!

Hello,

I think #1 is "The Dead Heart" by Midnight Oil,  and their other hit would have been "Beds Are Burning"

Hi there!

Just two wild guesses from me:
#10: Jermaine Stewart's other hit being "Lucky" or "Get lucky", I'm not quite sure (this happened to be a minor success here in the Netherlands, so that's the one I remember).
#14: Oasis' other hit might be Don't look back in anger.
