Rather random? Rather bloody difficult, more like...!

I can just about pull out three (Maria's got the others I knew straight off...)

#12. 'The Weight' - The Band

#23. 'Perfect Day' - Lou Reed

#29. 'Ballad Of Lucy Jordan' - Marianne Faithfull

...all of the others are either not kicking, or are totally alien...

I think I need a fresh pair of eyes come the morning!

Close (actually it's Sebastian), but I'll give you that. It's a classic (from 1973), but I take it you don't know the artist. ???

So you weren't at Woodstock then...? ;) Well, at least you got the band right.

CeramicsFanatic might instead.

So you've noticed I've picked songs that are up her street as well?  ;)

I might as well reveal that all songs can be found on "Play My Music", a series of 25 CDs which features songs (mostly easy listening) from the (late) 60s, 70s and 80s. I don't think it was available outside The Netherlands, though.

And yes: I was rather counting on CF, but I seem to have made it too hard for her this time.... :-\\

You know what? I'll remove the limit.

I've modified the hints and clues and added a few more. Maybe that'll do the trick.

10. You Could Have Been With Me - Sheena Easton.

Wrong question! It should read: Who is Tiffers?
Tiffers is a nickname for a singer that usually goes by the name of Tiffany, who - among many others - recorded I Think We're Alone Now and Could've Been (the song that I was referring to). She also recorded a terrible version of I Saw Him Standing There. :P :o

I'm not gonna ask you for the name of the other band that did this song, because that's DeBarge (perhaps better known for their 1985 song "Rhythm of the night"). The band featured El "Who's Johnny" DeBarge and Chico "Talk to me" DeBarge, if those songs have any meaning to you.

Yep, that's it! It was the clues that gave it away again, right?  ???
I'm not gonna ask you for the name of the other band that did this song, because that's DeBarge (perhaps better known for their 1985 song "Rhythm of the night"). The band featured El "Who's Johnny" DeBarge and Chico "Talk to me" DeBarge, if those songs have any meaning to you.

Ah, Who's Johnny, one those annoying songs that never wants to leave your head.
