That is correct Karen!

Hello Graham

Could #3 be Funky town by Lipps Inc. ???

Don't recognize the other ones.. :-\\

9. Groovin' - the Rascals (or were they still "Young" then?)

Correctamundo Gaylon! According to my Guinness Book of British Hit Singles, they were indeed the Young Rascals at that time.

Also correct Henk, I would also have accepted the (pretty much identical) cover version my Psedo Echo.
There are some really well known songs in here, I'm sure you guys know more if you look closely.

Hi Graham...nice to see you setting 'em up again...

#7. 'Yes Sir I Can Boogie' - Baccara
#8. (The mighty) 'Funky Gibbon' - Goodies*
#12. 'Honaloochie Boogie' - Mott The Hoople

I would have a guess about the theme - it looks pretty obvious, but knowing you, it can't be that simple!

So I'll hold it for a while!

(* I always thought that lyric was 'like a bee in a rage', but I've only got a crappy bit of vinyl!)

Boy these are tough.

But I only know one for now: #5, "Too Funky" by George Michael.

All correct Paul, I knew I could rely on you!
As for the theme, it's not very obsure, it's just a silly title for a quiz that came to me....two adjectives and a dance, basically.

(* I always thought that lyric was 'like a bee in a rage', but I've only got a crappy bit of vinyl!)

You could well be right, that one was from my memory and I can't find it on iTunes to have a listen.

#5 is correct Jeff, and there are honestly some not-very-tough ones still to bag - #1, #4 and #11 are all very well known songs, if a little old (like me).

You're right about #11; I'm just now reading it, and I know what it is: "Play That Funky Music" by Wild Cherry! :D

There ya go!

This is the song that started me compiling this quiz. On holiday recently we kept walking past an amusement arcade (slot machines, video games etc) where one of the machines kept playing the guitar riff from this song. It was starting to grate on my nerves a bit after hearing it twice a day for a week, heaven knows what it did to the mental welfare of the employees working there who must have heard it hundreds of times a day!

OK, I don't recognize any lyrics yet, but I'm taking a shot or two at the theme:
It's gotta be either 70's slang, or in the immortal words of Ren McCormick: LET'S DANCE!
Am I even close?

Hi Doc - you're on the right lines but it's not what I was looking for.
I suppose it's a little tricky but all the titles have one of three words in them, two adjectives and one dance.

The theme should be getting clearer now - I'm looking for two adjectives and a dance style to make "Maddog's F_______ G______ B_______ Quiz"

I've not heard that version of the song Gaylon, I'm going to stick with Simon & Garfunkel as the artist.

#13 Rock With You - Michael Jackson

That's not correct I'm afraid Tanya, I'm looking for song titles containing the words "funky", "groovy" or "boogie".
In the case of #13, the song title is a slight variation on "funky".
