I second that. I've definitely heard #19 before, and some of the others as well - but I can't name the shows/tv series. :-\\

The Billy Joel My Life theme to Bosom Buddies only aired during the original series run. IT was later changed to a new song titled "Shake Me Loose" when it aired in re-runs. My guess would be so they wouldn't have to pay Billy Joel royalties all the time ;D

2. Woah, is #2 actually Alf? Must be a redone version of the song. I thought of Alf the first time I heard it, but given I watched the first season not too long ago, and the music was different (the sound that is, not the actual notes) I figured it must have been a trick or something.
Ok went ahead and listened to it again; the main difference is I'm used to the theme being played with a keyboard or piano while the one in the quiz is with a sax. Sounds like it might be a song played after an episode has actually started (lead into action) rather than the opening theme, but I suppose the later seasons might have used a sax for the opening.

it is Alf yes. The sax theme was used in the later run of the series :)
