Here we go people. These songs are all somewhat off-beat, but several off them still managed to chart very well for themselves indeed. There's not many, so let's start with three each and take it from there.

1. I'm wise to the lies of the company spies
You dont' Get Me I'm Part of the Union - The Strawbs or Hudson Ford. Maddog

2. You're everything a big bad wolf could want.
Little Red Riding Hood - Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs. Windbreaker

3. Don't look, Ethyl!
The Streak - Ray Stevens. Karen

4. It was sort of a stork-lookin' bat with sharp teeth.
Ape Call - Nervous Norvus. Paul

5. I wave the thing all over the place.
My Boomerang Won't Come Back - Charlie Drake. Karen

6. They found him in the wreck with his hand on the throttle.
The Wreck of the Old 97 - Heaps of people. Paul

7. So Charlie and me had another cup of tea and then we went home.

8. And a strawberry-flavoured yoghurt sent it spinning from his hand.
Ernie (and he drove the fastest milk-cart in the west - Benny Hill. Maddog

9. She sang it as she tucked me in when I was 93.
The Ying Tong Song - The Goons. Maddog

10. I never even said a word, I just backed-up to that Thunderbird.(Hint: A cheatin' wife and a lot of cement)
I am surprised no-one recognised Ready Mixed Revenge by Johnny Chester

11. Does all this money really have to go to charity?
Living Doll - Cliff Richard and the Young Ones. Henk

12. You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Always Look on the Bright Side of Life - Monty Python. Jaytee

13. And when we arrive miles ahead of the rest ... (Hint: Theme to a movie about cars)
This was tricky. It was the theme to the movie Those Daring Young Men in their Jaunty Jalopies and was sung by Jimmy Durrante

14. Once while swimming across Turtle Creek.
My Ding-a-ling - Chuck Berry. Windbreaker

15. After the turn of the century.
Snoopy Vs The Red Baron - The Guardsmen. Philip Eno

16. We take all kinds of pills.
The Cover of the Rolling Stone - Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show. Windbreaker

17. Demented New York athletes staggering around the block.
An Englishman in New York - Godley and Creme. Zella

18. Where's me tiger's head?
My Old Man's a Dustman - Lonnie Donegan. Paul

19. Are we not the supermen? (Sung by a sharp man who needs to be kept up with and a cowboy movie with Billy Crystal)
Der Fuhrer's Face by Spike Jones and the City Slickers

20. But as he slips it on her finger, the chorus begin to sing ...
Does Your Chewing Gum Lose it's Flavour on the Bedpost Overnight? - Lonnie Donegan. 70sto80sGuy

I think that #20 is Lonnie Donegan's Does Your Chewing Gum Lose Its Flavour On The Bedpost Over Night?

#17 kind of sounds like "An Englishman in New York" by Godley and Creme

6. ...and scalded to death by the steam... Casey Jones? (Some country fellow with a funny voice - I can hear it in my head, but cannot place the name...)

Whoop! My sort-of stuff!

#4. 'Ape Call' - Nervous Norvus (better known for the bad-taste 'Transfusion'...)

6. ...and scalded to death by the steam... Casey Jones? (Some country fellow with a funny voice - I can hear it in my head, but cannot place the name...)

It's the 'Wreck Of The Ol' 97', which has probably been done to death by almost everybody...including Lonnie Donegan (who probably did have a funny voice, although he wasn't 'country'...)

...which brings me nicely to...

#18. That's the very man with 'My Old Man's A Dustman'

And where was his tiger's head?

Four foot from his tail...!

I love you guys: you're having as much fun with this as I did creating it!.

Maddog,
Goon, but never forgotten. All three are correct. Hudson Ford? OK.

Philip Eno,

#15 is correct. These are the opening lyrics.

70sto80sGuy,
I had The Strawbs in mind for #1 but if Hudson Ford also did it then I'm cool with that. No. 20 is wrong, as you will see.

Jaytee,
Spot on with Ernie as #8, but maddog got in first. #12 is correct.

Philip Eno
Yes, #20 is correct!

Henk,
My prefered version of Living Doll (sorry, Cliff)

Zella
Well done. The second line is "deformed Chicanos pour in Chicago's rolling stock"
#6, you got the following lyric correct but not the song.

Paul,
#4 is correct, as are #6 (so many sang this that I had no particular artist in mind) and #18. I could have done this whole quiz on Lonnie Donegan songs!

Not many to go ...
