Subject: Instrumentals: An Audio Quiz (killed)

Written By: Windbreaker05 on 03/27/06 at 5:32 pm

Hello out there in message board land. I am back with yet another quiz. This one is an audio quiz. All of the songs used here are basically instrumental. I say basically because some involve vocals used as instrument, and a few of them have actual lyrics but so few that I decided to include them anyway. I have decided that, for this quiz, YOU DO NOT NEED TO IDENTIFY THE ARTISTS. That's right, just a title will be fine for full credit. Of course, for many of these, if you know the proper title, you could probably identify the artist anyway. For some of these, I will accept more than one answer as the title even if the one given is not the one that matches the specific version I used. Also, as a little bit of help, the clips are arranged chronologically, or at least close to it, from earliest to latest. Long enough intro for you? I can't think of anything more to use in these instructions, so, have fun, good luck, and don't cheat.

Initial limit = Six (6) No more limit

#21 Casino Royale

Was trying to change it back just as you were probably correcting it. Have had an awful time trying to post/login to this site over the last week. Very frustrating. It just hangs,(time outs)  & I have to log in /out again, re-start brower etc; etc;. By the time I get back, it's probably too late. Don't know what's going on. Used to be just fine.

Yeah, the site does that sometimes. No worries, should only be temporary.

This is the correct title :)

Good quiz by the way. Being instrumental, it's hard to cheat ....... I haven't been ...........I do actually know a fair bit of music ....... but because of one of my first frivolous posts where I admiited to using google (on songs I'd never heard of)  that one time (as a joke), maybe I've got a stigma with some people. Oh well, that's their problem.
8) ;) :)

Oh, don't worry. I think the fact that you admitted it actually helped you because

a) It allowed a quick correction of the error so that you are now the fine, upstanding quiz answerer that you've become
and
b) People intentionally cheating mask it a little better, so I'm sure folks realized that it was just a mistake.

So, yes, no worries about that, play with clear conscience :)

Cheating in this case would be, say, randomly listening to songs and trying to match them to clips, or whatever, in my opinion... something that requires research without any real base of knowledge. Looking at a CD you own for his titles after I confirmed you've got the right artist? Go for it.

Nope to "Night Train." Perhaps the other will come to you... as a small hint, the title contains the instrument for which Nelson is legendary.

Thank you :)

I actually had two of those represented, but I cut them when I realized that my quiz was growing too fast... I might do a follow-up as this one's going over well. It was fun designing this one - sometimes I forget just how many great instrumental pieces there are.
