That would've been a dead giveaway, since the given lyric is the title of one of their songs. (For the record, it's a duet with the late Dusty Springfield.) With your hint, I cannot figure out the correct title and artist for #2. :-\\

OK, so far we're doing rather well.

I understand that some of the lyrics sound a bit obscure. There's a perfectly reasonable explanation for it:
