Subject: D is for...day (last answers revealed)

Written By: FaultyDog on 07/07/06 at 2:39 pm

And here we go again with the fourth letter of the alphabet.
I think this one is slightly easier than the previous one...

All titles or artists contain the word "day".

As usual, limit = 4 to start with.

I'm quite surprised to see "On Tuesday" in there.  Was it popular in the Netnerlands?

Not quite a perfect score, Jason... #11 isn't Kinks.

And putting #13 in this quiz was somewhat of a gamble, so I'm glad you recognized it.

I'm quite surprised to see "On Tuesday" in there.  Was it popular in the Netnerlands?

Not at all. The Safety Dance was their only chart entry ever over here.
I just did a google search for "tuesday", and this was one of the songs that came up.

24. Day Dream - Lovin' Spoonful
25. Tuesday's Dead - Cat Stevens
32. Rainy Days and Mondays - Carpenters
37. Every Day is a Winding Road - Sheryl Crow

Although these four are all correct, I can only credit you for #25 and #32. The other two were already taken. :(

I knew it was Dayton, but I almost didn't remember the title.  It appears on a UK CD simply called "1983".  I had to go and dig out that CD to jog my memory.  It all worked out, because now I've been listening to that CD all day ;D

I was hoping "On Tuesday" was a hit somewhere.  It is a song that I remember hearing on the radio all the time, but according to the internet, was not released as a single.  Oh well, it is a fantastic album track 8)

I can't believe #21 is still available.

#21...Come Monday...Jimmy Buffet? ( no, I'm not a parrot head)

As for #1 it comes from having children who, through their teen years, controlled the car radio.

I think it was still available due to the fact that the limit is four. I have a gut feeling Karen (CF) also knew this one (in fact, it would surprise me if she didn't), but she had to restrain herself.

In this area I've always heard them refered to as Morris Day, they leave "The Time" off.
It's the same for Tom Petty, The Heartbreakers never get a mention. I guess they just
want to save "Time."
