Nope.  Not only has Yaphet Kotto never won an Emmy (he was only nominated once in 1977), he has actually been very active since The Running Man.  He was in over 100 episodes of the TV series "Homicide - Life On The Street", and over 30 other TV and Movie projects.

8.  What other iconic 1980's movie featured a buff actor trying to deactivate a TV broadcast facility?

12.  What 1991 movie also featured a prison in which prisoners were fitted with explosive collars that would detonate upon escaping?

8.  They Live, dir. John Carpenter, 1988.  (Assuming you'll accept non-fiction documentaries as "movies".  Gloria, you look like sh*t!)

12.  Deadlock, dir. Lewis Teague, 1991.  (Neat idea, but still fiction, at least so far.)

5.  What 2001 movie was strongly inspired by The Running Man, and featured contestants in a game show going around an American city killing each other?

6.  What Grammy Award winning composer created the music and teme song for the movie?

5.  If it's Slashers, then

6.  ...is Martin Gauthier, right?

And you forgot:

Q. 99:  What video game took The Running Man to new heights?
A: 99 Smash TV, Williams Electronics, 1990. I'll buy that for a dollar.

Of course, compared to me, Leonard "I've seen the future brother / it is murder" Cohen was an optimist... so there you go.

6.  Well I'll be danged.  It was Harold Faltermeyer.  (But I wouldn't have gotten it without the hint.)

5.  Googled and discovered to my surprise that American Gladiators lasted more than 7 seasons (and the various Survivor spawn, for that matter), but since neither were movies (and neither involved actual death of the contestants), they're not the right answer.  Dang, I coulda been one o'  (Series 7) The Contenders!

(Sounds like a lot better movie than my first guess!)

Well, just 3 answers left.

And yea, Series 7 is a pretty good movie.  I saw it in 2002 and have already had to replace it once (am trying to find it again, this is a DVD I will not loan out again!)

Good guesses, but not right, sorry.

#11 Go buy your popcorn now!

Hmmm, this might make more sense at the beginning of the movie.  Ohh, those darned subliminal messages.
