HINTS:

Medley 2, Song 7:  A Dutch group with a British lead singer, with a song from 1983.  I believe it reached #27 in the Dutch chart.  In Canada, it was popular in the Dance chart
Starting at the End - Doris D. and the Pins

Medley 2, Song 8:  A vacation type song by a Berlin based group of Australians whose name is the opposite of same twos.  With a habba habba ho and a habba habba hey, this song reached US #29 in 1987
Holiday - The Other Ones

Medley 3, Song 8:  A song about living in a Japanese city.  I can't find a UK chart placing for the original issue of this song, but a 1982 re-release of it reached #28 in the UK.  The original '79 release reached #72 in Canada
Life in Tokyo - Japan

Medley 4, Song 8: The most successful British solo artist of the 80s in the UK.  This 1987 sub-titled single reached #12 in the UK chart

oh, sorry about that whistledog, you can tell I'm hitting 50, definitely need to get out my reading glasses, anyway #6 & #8  is from Medley 1 and #9 is from Medley 2; I knew that wasn't American Breed on that tune, but I didn't even know that there was a remake of the song, it will be interesting to see who the artist is on that one.  Did the original version come out in the 60s?

'bout 2 days after I posted the quiz.  I was going to leave it idle with the hints for a while longer, but I wanted to do a thread on Japan, and since Life in Tokyo hadn't been solved yet, I ended the quiz early

I was gonna use parts with vocals, but the instrumental portion blended so well within the medley.  lol
