You got all those correct for 2.5 points :)

Since there are only 4½ left, why not remove the limit :)

This quiz has zoomed through faster than I expected.  It might actually get finished? :o

#40 was a popular hit in the UK.  In 2005, it reached #24 in the UK, then after use in a 2006 T-Mobile commercial, it re-charted at #24

That is why is it familiar, I blame tv for that.

It's quite shocking it made it to the UK, as it never became a success at all in the States.  I don't believe it was popular elsewhere apart from Canada and the UK, but I could be wrong

Ack, guess I'm late to get back.

Only other one I recognize is #40: "When the Night Feels My Song" by Bedoin Sound Clash.

Based on your hint, #20 is likely Paul Anka.

20 | This solo insomniac song by Paul Anka hit #8 in the US

Just got this clue. I can't remember if it's "I Don't Want to Sleep Alone" or "I Don't Like to Sleep Alone." I think the second one.

The last answer revealed ...

#37 is 'Bird on A Wire', originally by the great Leonard Cohen.  The Neville Brothers recorded it as the title track for the 1990 movie 'Bird on A Wire' starring Mel Gibson and Goldie Hawn
