Subject: Count Me In! [Last Answers Given]

Written By: Henk on 06/09/07 at 3:18 pm

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/2/17/785141/CountMeInLogo.gif

This is definitely the shortest quiz I've created so far
and it's all about counting.
The counting is either in the clipping or in the song title...

Limit = OFF. Can I count on you people? ::)

NOTE: most clippings are only a few seconds,
and there's probably 4 or 5 that nobody knows. ;)

Scores so far:
5.5 whistledog
5.0 RobertK
4.0 loki 13 / Philip Eno / Windbreaker05
3.0 maddog
2.5 Gambo
2.0 bookmistress4ever
1.0 Gaylon / Gwen / karen / lorac61469

Hints!

05. A UK #2, this tune (by a Dutch DJ) about a rocket and a countdown. In US, the artist is probably better known for "You Got My Love".

09. Not a hit outside mainland Europe, this song by an artist that ranks O-3 in US Army. He shares his first name with Mr Nicholson. The song is about an "army institute", as portrayed by Louis Gossett Jr (in "An Officer And A Gentleman") and R. Lee Ermey (in "Full Metal Jacket").

15. No, you don't know this one. They're Belgian, and I think this only charted in Belgium and The Netherlands. Answer given.

Hi Henk. Gotta go out, so these might all be done by the time I get back, or at least the one's I know. Haven't even listened to any of them yet, but I do believe the original was done by Brian Hyland, so will offer him. He also did a far better song (IMHO) called 'Gypsy Woman', which unfortunately didn't do much in the UK, but I rate it.

Here's my answers:

#2  Alice, I Want You Just For Me - Full Force
#20 2-4-6-8 Motorway - Tom Robinson Band
#32 Waiting For A Train - Flash and the Pan

#5 is also really familiar, I'm humming the rest of this dance track but I can't remember the name of the song or the artist.

That's not it, but I have a feeling you might be confusing two songs. It's another band and another title, though (and a hint: a UK #1).

I take it you meant #5, but it's not Ferry Corsten. :( His real name is Jan Engelaar. Before his solo career, he worked with Peran (Peran van Dijk). Apart from this tune and "You Got My Love", he also recorded songs like "Love Come Home", "Lift Me Up", "Supersounds" and "Every Single Day".

Well, I don't think anyone knows the remaining songs...so here goes:

05. A UK #2, this tune (by a Dutch DJ) about a rocket and a countdown. In US, the artist is probably better known for "You Got My Love".
        Watch the answer take off.

        Forward....March!

21. Splendid! I've used this one in my previous quiz...Gis and Paul each came up with half an answer then.

The band performing live on TOTP.

22. Willy DeVille, with a cover version of a song made popular by Jimi Hendrix.
No video here (the only one I could find was of poor quality), just a plain answer: the song is "Hey Joe".

29. Ask Jason - he has the album.  ;D It's an extraordinary tune by Gigi D'Agostino.

        Watch Gigi move!

34. British soul trio (lead singer: Pauline Henry), best known for "Heaven". They also covered U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For".
No video available. The song is "1 2 3" by The Chimes.
