Fine stuff as ever, Jason...

#1. 'Give It Up' - KC & The Sunshine Band (as they were still billed in Briatin, even though it was a solo effort by KC! It originally broke first in Ireland, before becoming a huge hit here...)

#2. 'Since I Don't Have You' - Don McLean

#3. 'Call Me' - Go West

#4. 'Earth Angel' - possibly New Edition(?)

#6. Our old friends Starsound (or whoever!) with 'Stars On Stevie'

All correct Paul! :)

'Give it Up' was (I believe) KC (and the Sunshine Band)'s last ever hit, though here in Canada, he had a popular remake of it in the late 90s which had French lyrics lol

As far as Top 40 goes, I'd say you're probably right. Still, he did reach bubbling under section over here with "Something's Happening" later the same year.

It's amazing .. They had roughly 9 years worth of hits, and it's kept them going over 30 years.  KC still tours the world with the Sunshine Band performing their catalog of hits.  They had a cameo appearance in the 2003 remake 'The In-Laws'

It is Cliff Richard which gives you full points on that one, as well as both half correct on the others, giving you a total of 4 out of 5.  You have 1 (or two half answers) left :)

All of these are correct Paul! :)

You know what's weird about that Tight Fit song?  I'm not 100% sure it was a hit in Canada.  The printed charts credit the song as performed by Various Artists, but the label information is identical to that of the USA Tight Fit release.  It also charted in October of 1981, the same as America

http://img257.imageshack.us/img257/1016/back2the60sxn2.png

It would be interesting though if there actually was some other version of it as performed actually by various artists.  As far as I am concerned though, it's Tight Fit all the way!  Accept no substitutes LOL

Can't actually listen at the moment, but I'll try working off the hints.

13 | (US #35, 1986)  Featuring the vocals of hit-making songwriter Holly Knight.  From their lone album '22B3'
Something by Spider?

34 | (US #24, 1982)  This was this group's last US Top 40 hit.  The lead singer wrote several of the smash hits for 'Dirty Dancing'.  With his band, he is best known for the song 'Sweetheart'
Franke and The Knockouts?

35 | (NO US CHART | UK #39, 1982)  Roger Waters would be disappointed that no one recognized this one.  I bet Sigfried and Roy like this song!
A Pink Floyd song?

41 | (NO US CHART | UK #78, 1987)  This one was massive in Australia, where the singer is from.  It's driving me out of my mind why no one knows this one
John Farnham

42 | (NO US CHART | UK #32, 1985)  A duet with a rocket man and a female singer who had an infamous album to which the cover shows her sitting on a toilet taking a crap lol
Act of War - Elton John and Millie Jackson... great song

47 | (US #66, 1983 | NO UK CHART)  From Midnight Star's album 'No Parking on the Dance Floor'.  A song about a robot type
"Freak-a-Zoid," perhaps?

Here are the remaining answers.  Thanks to all who played :)

09 | You Can Take My Heart Away - Silver Condor
13 | Hanging on A Heart Attack - Device
34 | Without You (Not Another Lonely Night) - Franke and the Knockouts
41 | Pressure Down - John Farnham
46 | Everything But My Pride - Cutting Crew

The male singer of Device was Paul Engemann who had a #1 hit in Germany with "Reach Out" (also a US #81 hit), a collaboration with Giorgio Moroder that served as the Track Theme to the 1984 Summer Olympics.  He was also the replacement lead singer in Animotion, best heard on their 1989 smash hit 'Room to Move'.  He also sang the title track to the 1983 film 'Scarface'

Another great quiz Jason, and I just realised that I did not contribute any further to this quiz. Anyway there is always the next one.

Well done plus Karma
