Subject: Z is for Zugabe (pt. 3 - Letters G & H. Hints added. Nothing left to play for.)

Written By: Henk on 04/12/09 at 3:20 pm

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/2/17/785141/ZisforZugabeLogo.jpg

We've come to the letters G and H once again...Remember those?

G is for songs/artists starting with G - easy as that.
H is for HenXtra Special Audio Quiz - a quiz with a twist.

Limit = OFF. Please note that questions 29, 31, 33, 35,
37, 39 and 41 count as TWO SEPARATE QUESTIONS, for one point each!

I think there's gonna be a handful that you'll probably won't get,
but I'm wishing you good luck anyway!

Hints!

03. A Dutch #10 for this former lead singer of Little Feet, who died on June 29, 1979. His song was covered by Candye Kane(!) in 1995,
and shares its title with a Fred Astaire song.

05. Pianist with a double last name, but without any hits as a performing artist. The song in question was also recorded by Roger Daltrey
and Gene Pitney. Singer penned "Bringing On Back The Good Times", a hit for The Love Affair.

09. Liverpool band (better known for their hippy hippy shake) and their rendition of a Little Richard song.

12. They skipped the light fandango for a night in a luxurious suite...?

13. This band was named after a book by Yoko Ono. One of the band members has family ties with AC/DC and Easybeats.
The subject of the song (not a hit in UK or US, but a Dutch #5) is most easily found at sea (esp. in a trough).

16. No peace in the universe for this UK #14 and US #39?

17. Not the most successful cover of a Dionne Warwick classic (only making #98 in US). Oh well, she'll survive...

31b. If I say this is Paul Weller & Co.... A song by The Style Council (UK #14, US -)

33b. A song from the album "Prince Of The Deep Water" that only made #30 in UK. The band's a OHW. May the road rise to meet you...

37a. German act, with an all important question regarding tuna and cod.

Thank you, Kevin. :) I like the results, but it's a lot of (extra) work...so I'm not sure if I'll do it ever again.

BTW: your answers are all spot-on. 8)

#35 Hungry Like The Wolf - Duran Duran
#36 Hit Me With Your Rhythm Stick - Ian Drury and the Blockheads

You got two for two, Karen. :)

Even in reverse, that Ian Dury song is still very recognizable.  ;)

#25 Gemini Dream - Moody Blues
#28 Sunburn - Graham Gouldman

Well hello Mr Wombat. :) So the Bandit's been after you, eh?

I'm glad you got #28, as it was one of the songs I'd figured people would be struggling with (not a hit in UK and US). Wish I could give you some extra points for that...  :(
The other three answers are also correct.
