Really? I assumed they were a U.S. group...  Still, those lyrics are going back a way in my memory banks...  For some reason it was the first early 70's hit that popped into my head when thinking of making this quiz!

As a teen we would hang out at a friends house because his parents turned a blind eye as to what
we were doing. A trade off for that liberty was he tortured us with a few albums, good albums but
he played them every night. Twin Sons Of Different Mothers was one and reading the lyrics brought
those memories back.  ;D

Yes...from what I can tell...Dan Fogelberg was probably not your 'cup of tea'!  Although that particular album was very different...

It's not too easy, I guess it depends how many songs you know and what you listened to. There are a couple left on the list that "I haven't gotten a clue" of what songs they are.

I'm now thinking that two of these may not have been big hits in the U.S.  and will provide hints to speed up finalization of the quiz...

#6  Huge hit ...sung by a duo ... song was about the 'glue' of life...

#12 Maybe not a hit in the U.S. ...sung by an Englishman who couldn't be tamed ...he apparently wanted visitors.

#32 Sung by 3 sisters who were better than our current 'dolls'...

I'm glad you got it ...I'm pretty sure (of those who are on the score board so far) only you, philip and maybe mooster could know it (maybe Henk too)... :-\\  It was it hit in Australia back in 74-75...

I'm now thinking that the final song will also be solved by the British, Australian or Dutch contingent....

Finally, I thought I was gonna have to change the lyric to include 'honky tonk guitar'. But only those who knew would have tigged anyway! Now, the real question is how a country sounding tune named Mississippi didn't chart in the the U.S..  :o  IMO this is one of the finest songs and has been a favourite of mine for more than 30 years... There are many live performances on youtube. I even saw a clip of a Dutch guy singing it (in Dutch) and the Pussycat girls (not dolls) were in that clip (now much older)...I still enjoyed the song... ;D

Anyway...well done Amanda...you tied with Frank for 1st place with 7 correct answers.

I'll be home soon and will post the next 70's lyrics quiz. I need to get this out of my system... :-\\
