Subject: Henk's New Lyrics Quiz (Christmas Number Ones) [DONE! Karen wins!]

Written By: Henk on 12/27/09 at 10:04 am

Alright, here's another one for you. About time too... ;)
It's a pretty straightforward lyrics quiz. There is a theme, but it's for you to guess.

Let's see... Limit = OFF now. Five points if you guess the theme go to karen.
And it goes without saying that cheating isn't appreciated.

Have fun! :)

Final scores:
12.5  karen
10.0  Paul
 9.5  Frank
 9.0  loki 13
 6.0  nally
 4.0  Gaylon
 3.5  ladybug316 / whistledog
 3.0  Christie Marie M.
 2.5  Womble
 1.0  snozberries

Hints!

51. A #1 in UK and Australia (and a million seller with that) for this Australian foursome, and yet no one remembers...?

Good quiz Henk.  Btw, have you found a new site for audio yet?  I think I may have figured out a way to bring back the audio quiz, but I'm not sure if it will be successful.  It's in the works

Here are 4 from me ...

11 | Our Lips Are Sealed - The Go-Gos (or Fun Boy Three, for our International folks)
26 | Never Gonna Give You Up - Rick Astley
36 | Eloise - Barry Ryan (or the awesome 80s cover by The Damned, one of my faves)
38 | Nikita - Elton John (to me, Elton's greatest hit)

You're absolutely right about these, Frank. :)

"April Love" was a US #1 in 1957. That's not too old for this quiz (the oldest #1 in this quiz dates from 1952). ;)

The limit is off, and I've added hints. That should help.

That's a yes.

And another yes.

Your clues help a lot. #28 must be shup uppa your face, or something like that..the "Giuseppe" clue gives that away. Don't know you sang it.
I should get that since I am Italian...

All correctamundo, Karen. 8) Well, apart from the song title for #39 - but Frank got it right.

Now all we need is a title for #18. Any suggestions? ???
