Subject: TV “Supporting character” quiz (1960s to 1990s TV) Limit OFF

Written By: warped on 05/28/13 at 7:43 am

Welcome to my television show “supporting character” quiz.
You name the character (first OR last name) for ½ point, and the TV show the character was on for another ½ point. In many cases the character was on most episodes, they just weren't the main character on the show.

Note:  I am not looking for the actors/actress real name, just the supporting character’s name they played on the show.

You might recognize the face and say “but, this person was a guest star on so many shows”. Yes, they might have been, but each person here had a recurring role on a TV show (meaning they were in more than 1 episode of that TV show)  Hopefully the outfit they are wearing or the background also helps.  I haven't seen every TV show in the world, so I hope a few aren't confusing. These characters are only from American TV shows.

3 for you. I thought #9 might confuse people because Allan Melvin was also part time on "All in the family", really around the same time. He was "Barney Hefner" there.

Good guess, but's it's not Alan. I think you are thinking of Alan Brady. That role was played by Carl Reiner on the show.

are you not giving Patty half credit for getting the Dick Van Dyke Show???

also I assume you won't take "Baldy" or "Curly" as answers  :D I know the answer but I cannot give it as the limit has not yet been raised.

And I can tell by the jacket this wasn't an image of Mr Rutherford from Leave it to Beaver but with Lumpy on the list it was nice to see father and son "together" again  ;)

Rhoda was also my favorite character on MTM.  :)

From the photo Bess is still quite young so I'm guessing it was taken during MTM days.
