though its probably something not as obvious as that like none because the corners don't touch

tho the corners do not meet, I only see 10.
the other ones are technically "rectangles" and the L shape.

I see 15 ... and sure, there are shapes within those shapes but ... I still see 15 actual squares.

I hate these quizzes...I see 17 squares..
9 squares of 1 match, 5 squares of 2 matches, 1 square of 3 matches, the large one with 4 matches
and the outer border = 17.

I didn't count the outer and I just didn't see the 1 square of 3 at all (until your post).

and the outer boarder = 17.
At first I counted 17, but since then I can only see 16.

I didn't count the border at first but the question asked,"How many squares do you see?" The border is a square,
I figured if it was a trick question the border would be the one that is missed.

17 is you count the square on the outside
18 if you count the word "squares"
