I had some problems viewing this quiz directly without opening up the youtube page - possibly my virus checking software.  Once I got it going it was a great quiz.  Plenty of head scratching moments and several to check again.

Here's my first four answers.

12 Walk The Dinosaur - Was Not Was

15 Running in the Family - Level 42

19 Walking on the Moon - Police

25 Walk of Life - Dire Straits

I was able to figure out quite a few of these. Which ones should I answer? Let's see...

#4 is "I Ran (So far away)" by Flock Of Seagulls.
#27 is "Walk This Way" as performed by Run-DMC.
#35 is "Walk Don't Run" by the Ventures.
#43 is "Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)" by Mike + The Mechanics.

Once again, great quiz as always. O0

Happy to see a new quiz, but unfortunately I don't seem to be able to participate.  Not sure why I can't see/hear any of the songs, there is not even a link that I can see.  :\'(

Thank you for putting them together though.

#14 - Depeche Mode - Try Walking in My Shoes
#29 - Divine - Walk Like A Man
#45 - Eddy Grant - Walking on Sunshine (the one that had nothing to do with Katrina's version!)

It is indeed that song, but not Wayne Newton singing.

22.  The Resurrection Shuffle - Ashton Gardner & Dyke  love this song and had forgotten all about it. hope I got it right

I love to bring back happy memories, or maybe spark some interest in nearly forgotten gems. And yes, you got it right!

31. Run For Your Life - The Beatles

Will do. ;) Which brings your tally up to 2.5 (out of a possible 4).

Hi there Henk and Gelukkig Nieuwjaar to you (blame Google Translate if that's wrong  ;D).
I'm late again but luckily there are four great songs here that I recognise:

#23 Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush

#28 Seaside Shuffle - Terry Dactyl & The Dinosaurs

#34 Spanish Stroll - Mink DeVille

#38 A Walk In The Black Forest - Horst Jankowski

I have some trivia to add to these answers as well, hope that's OK (although I'm sure you knew these facts anyway).

#23 Kate always maintains that in her mind this song is called "Deal With God" but her record company advised her against that title.
Just as well she did, otherwise this song wouldn't have made it into your "sidewalks" quiz.

#28 Terry Dactyl went on to go solo as Jona Lewie of "Stop The Cavalry" and "Kitchen at Parties" fame.

I can only give you 3.5 out of 4. For #45 you got the title right, but not the artist.

With a huge tie at 4.0 points, I'm gonna let everyone else squabble for this one!  #45, Walking On Sunshine, artist is still up for grabs!

Nice try, but no. Village People are a quintet, whereas I am looking for a quartet (with hits like "Walk Away Renee" and "You Keep Running Away").

Could 42 be Chris DeBurgh?

I can "see" where you got the idea, but I'm afraid it's incorrect, Patty. :(

In your defense: the song WAS penned by Eddy Grant, so you're not that far off. Vocals on this record however are by Donnie Calvin, production by Arthur Baker and remix by John "Jellybean" Benitez.
Follow-ups included "They Harder They Come" and "Living For The Weekend".

number 42 is Roger Daultrey's Walking in My Sleep. :)

It is indeed! Well done, and welcome to my quiz! :)

20.  I had a 50/50 chance there and I chose wrong.  lol  It has to be the Four Tops then?  Ummm... let me think what songs I know of their that work with the theme...

OK, nope, none of the hits I know work, except for Walk away renee, but I know it's not that.

It is the Four Tops! :)

The song I'm looking for was a 1981 single, but it didn't chart in US. It did break Top 20 in UK, and Top 5 in The Netherlands, though.

#17. The artist is Daniel Boone (not the pioneer!) - perhaps better known for the three-minute lump of cheese that is 'Beautiful Sunday'

#20. Title...'Don't Walk Away'

#45. Artist - Rocker's Revenge (featuring Donnie Calvin, if you must!) - I don't think many people at the time knew this was an Eddy Grant song! I sure didn't!

Thought I was gonna go for the throat with #41. but...it's not happenin'!

Obviously not the singer's best known track then. He started his career in the musical "Hair", and had other hits (although apparently not in his homeland UK) with songs like "Thanks" (1969, NL #3) and "Love Hit Me" (1976, NL #10).

I don't know the song, but yeah, I could've used that one as well.
There are probably dozens of other songs that would've fitted the theme. Right now I'm thinking of "Running With The Night" - also not in my quiz.

Can't say I've ever heard of the guy! Obviously one of those acts that found more success on mainland Europe than here - and there's been quite a few! A quick wiki of him reveals that he co-wrote Maxine Nightingale's huge hit 'Right Back Where We Started From', so I've learned something, at least!

Thanks once again for a fine quiz, Henk!
