I never realized it was such a good year for music. :)  Better

Can do!  ;)  These lists have been taken directly from my Sounds Of The Seventies CD's and I know that "1978: Take Two" only included the title track to that movie.  I will go ahead and add a few others though.  :D

1978 - your favourite year, CF?
Then count your blessings that you were never subjected to 'The Smurf Song'! (Brits will know what I'm on about...!)

1. Werewolves Of London - Warren Zevon 4 - great song from the recently departed singer/songwriter...always played on radio, but strangely never charted here...Awooooo...!

2. Baby Hold On - Eddie Money 4 - ...and similarly strangely, Eddie's never hit here, even though he's made some fine stuff like this...

3. Because The Night - Patti Smith Group 4 - wallopingly powerful stuff...well-remembered...

4. Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad - Meatloaf 5 - also powerful stuff...packed to the rafters with hooks, this was/is irresistable...

5. Hot Child In The City - Nick Gilder 2 - I've tried...but I've never seen the appeal of this tune...rather weak...

6. Lay Down Sally - Eric Clapton 4 - jaunty, bouncealong thing with Eric's languid vocals attached...cool...

7. Hot Blooded - Foreigner 4 - confident strutting piece of rock...marvellous stuff...incidentally also much-liked (although he wouldn't dare admit it) by a certain John Lydon/Rotten...!

8. Life's Been Good - Joe Walsh 5 - playful narrative of the 'rawk star' lifestyle...brilliant stuff...

9. Peg - Steely Dan 4 - superb jazz-tinged number...

10. Use Ta Be My Girl - O'Jays 4 - not their best, but a stormer of a dancefloor number...

11. We Are The Champions - Queen 5 - pomp-rock at its finest...! How can you not get carried along with it?!!

12. Night Fever - Bee Gees 4 - not their best, but a long-standing testament to their ability to adapt...fantastic...

13. I Love The Nightlife (Disco 'Round) - Alicia Bridges 3 - okay out-and-out disco rattler...spoilt somewhat by her corny-ish vocals...

14. Kiss You All Over - Exile 5 - wonderfully atmospheric yet soothing...beautiful...!

15. Short People - Randy Newman 3 - has written some timeless classics, but this doesn't do much for me...

16. Dust In The Wind - Kansas 4 - lovely moody number from a criminally underrated group...

17. Le Freak - Chic 5 - in one word...faultless...

18. Double Vision - Foreigner 5 - quite possibly their best rocker...

19. You're In My Heart - Rod Stewart 4 - fine 'drunken' singalong number...

20. Ooh Baby Baby - Linda Ronstadt 2 - Competent as always, but the song really didn't need updating...

In short, fine selection...And a Part 2 to come? Bring 'em on...!
