Apologies...quite a few here I don't know...

Bachman-Turner Overdrive - wasn't around long, but certainly packed a wallop...4
54-40 ?
Bryan Adams - a solid 4 for a solid rocker...
Alanis Morrisette - not very well 'clued up' on this lady, so 3 for what I know...
Gordon Lightfoot 5
The Guess Who 4
Neil Young - infuriating performer...blows hot and cold much too often...4 for his good stuff, 1 for his worst...
Matthew Good Band ?
Tom Cochrane - only know one or two things from this guy, but he's pretty good 3
The Tea Party ?
Our Lady Peace ?
The Tragically Hip ?
Econoline Crush ?
Danko Jones ?

To make up for my 'don't knows', I'll give Paul Anka 4...!!

Hope you all had a great day...

April Wine- 8  I absolutely love thses guys, & not just for "Just Between You & Me", either.
The Cars- 6  Yes, some of these guys WERE from Canada- for example, the late, great Benjamin Orr, the bassist.
The Mackensie Brothers- 9    Yes, they count because they had an album, eh? So, they're artists now, eh?
Rush- 8      Kickin' ass and thinkin' with their tukes, eh?

???

No member of The Cars is from Canada.  Benjamin Orr was born in Ohio, and raised in Cleveland :)

I wonder why that was posted on their official bio, back in the '80s.

Maybe they pulled a Cheap Trick, eh?

-I mean, Bun E. Carlos was NOT the son of a Venezuelan biologist, for example.
Orr's bio stated he was from Toronto.
Think Greg Hawkes's said he was from Nova Scotia, or something???

Who knows? They sure beat Anne Murray, who really IS from Nova Scotia!

You missed a few talented Canadian bands like Protest the Hero,Rush(as someone already mentioned) and Billy Talent.
I'm surprised at the number of people who don't know who Our Lady Peace is, check them out, they're amazing.  Alot of talent
which unfortunately people don't see because they're fairly mainstream in Canada and people just assume mainstream, so they suck.
Check out one of their cds, I reccomend Gravity, Clumsy or Spiritual Machines.

I must concur with you.

Gordon Lightfoot also did "The Edmund Fitzgerald".

Bad Company/BTO also did: Feel Like Makin' Love, Shooting Star, and Takin' Care Of Business.

I will do . . . But if I find one duff song from him, I'm going over to Hawaii, ring your door-knocker and rub your face with a wet sponge.  ;)

Gordon Lightfoot was great.  He had a couple of hits in the 80's as well, but I think they were only popular here in Canada
