Don't worry it's early in the season, the Sox have plenty of time to let us down, AGAIN.

This season has been pretty exciting so far - Detroit playing well is the best for me but seeing Seattle struggle so early has been a bummer. I'm going to ge see Detroit play in Seattle next month - I love both these teams so it's going a blast to watch this one.

I've always liked Detroit...thier baseball team, NOT that hockey organization....I remember way back in '84 when they started 35-5 and went on to win the World Series :)

Yeah, the Dodgers were ahead 9-2 at one point. In the 6th inning (I believe it was), they went around the entire lineup, sending 10 players to the plate.

Braves won again 9-5 over the Reds yesturday by scoring the tying fun in the top of the 9th and then scoring 4 more in the top of the tenth to win.  That means they are 4-1 over their last 5, hopefully a start to a larger run.

Last night after the Dodgers/Rockies game concluded, the announcer said on the radio that there might be rain in Denver, which implied the possibility of no game today, but I just checked and they were delayed in the 6th inning with the Rockies leading 7-1. We'll see what happens...

Yeah; each of the past four years they've failed to win the pennant...which is ok by me. I'll still never forget how the Cardinals made quick work of them in the 2000 NL Division Series. In three of the past four postseasons they've not survived the Division Series. As a Dodger fan I don't normally cheer for the Giants, but I had to in the '02 NLDS because I didn't want the Braves moving on. Basically I'm comfortable with pretty much anyone just as long as it's not the Yanks and Braves together.

Anyway, I think I've said enough now. ttfn

Thats one thing thats great about being a Braves fan (I am sure many of the Yankees fans feel the same way) is because everyone hates your team because they always win.  The reason "America's Team" was coined was because you can watch the Braves anywhere in the United States, the Chicago Cubs are the only other team that you can view anywhere as well.  And when you look at when it was coined the Braves were winning and the Cubs werent so between the two thats how they got the name.  Plus look where the Braves are located, Beisdes the Marlins the Braves own the whole southeast pretty much.  You go to South Carolina, Alabama, North Carolina and so on they are all mostly Braves fans.

The Thomahawk Chop would not be what it is if was not for the other teams fans disliking it so much.  Atleast it is better than the towels in Minnesota.  If you don't like the Braves Tomahawk Chop I would assume then you all probably dont care for Florida State's either.

Well that whole tomahawk thing does bother me...whether it be Atlanta or FSU. As for the "America's team....I always likened it to the Dallas Cowboys...who I cannot stand...thanks for the explanation though, kenlos....I don't mean to offend you...I just have grown tired of Atlanta over the years. One thing that added to my dislike for them was a feature on ESPN a few years back that showed how far outside the Atlanta pitchers used to get away with...granted the umps called it the same for both teams...BUT after the show aired and MLB changed cracked down on this problem, catcher javier lopez was whining SO much and denying that that was the case.....I could go on for a while but I'd just like to say that I'm sorry if I upset you....I meant no disrespect...I probably won't ever be called a Braves fan but I wish your team good luck ;)

It is possible that they COULD lose (I have seen them really screw up games before.) But they can't seem to win two in a row. They win one, lose one, win one, lose one, etc. etc.

My Dodgers were off yesterday, but I watched the Tigers/Angels game last night. The Angels were down 6-2 at one point but rallied from that deficit, and later Troy Glaus hit a two-run home run to give the Angels the lead for good.

I know. When the Dodgers play the Rockies, one of us will win and the other will lose. As for the Angels, that's different, since they're in the American League. I will cheer for the Rockies whenever they play the Braves, and next month when they play the Yankees. >grin< ;)

By the way, were you a fan of any team before the Rockies came into existence 11 years ago? I'm just wondering.

I was afraid you'd ask that since it goes against the very grain of sense....My favorite team was the Cardinals followed by the Cubs....Kinda like somebody liking the Red Sox AND the Yankees ::) My late son Blaine LOVED the Cardinals...even after the Rockies were born...though he liked them too

Yeah, recently my Dodgers had an eight-game losing streak. But they won last night in Milwaukee. They've had an easy time against the Brewers the past three years. Last year they won all three games in Milwaukee while the Brewers won two games in L.A. (for the first time since 2000). Too bad Kaz Ishii couldn't go 6-3, since he was pulled from the game after only 4 2/3 innings pitched.

They won. They beat the Padres, which is good news for me because my Dodgers also lost. So the Padres remain a few percentage points behind the Dodgers. (They're not actually tied for first; it's just that the Padres have played more games than the Dodgers, so they're zero games behind, if you will. ;)) Anyway, congratz on your Rockies ending their skid. ;)

Thanks nally, now we'll probably start another one though :-\\

Sure enough....Chacon blows the save and the Rockies lose 4-3 >:(

Well it doesn't look too promising for the Dodgers right now. It's the bottom of the 9th and they're losing 6-3. Knowing them, I don't think they can make a miraculous comeback. :-\\

I'm sorry Nally.  My Cubbies lost both games of a double header last night.  Good thing the season is still young.

Last night the Dodgers won, 10 to nothing! Jose Lima pitched 8 shutout innings, and then Eric Gagne pitched a scoreless ninth (even though it wasn't a save situation; they haven't used him much lately).

We lost to the Giants again last night....and now we're trailing 2-0 in the 2nd today :-\\

Well it looks like your Rockies lost yet again :-\\ ... but the Dodgers won again. For the second night in a row, they shut out the Diamondbacks, this time by a score of 3-0. Eric Gagne got his 12th save, which is his 75th consecutive; he hasn't blown a save opportunity in 21 months! :D

Mr. RockandRollfan, nally is right; your Rockies got swept by the Giants, who have now won 9 in a row and are closing in on the Dodgers. :o

I probably shouldn't say this (for fear of jinxing things) but it seems like my Mets are FINALLY playing some ball. I just hope that they keep it up.

My Dodgers are finally playing some ball, too...yesterday they were on the verge of being shut out 2-0, but in the bottom of the ninth inning, they tied it up and sent the game into extra innings; Eric Gagne pitched the top of the 10th and preserved the tie; in the bottom of the 10th, Jose Hernandez doubled and Cesar Izturis scored him with a base hit and the Dodgers won, 3-2. :)

Well I guess I spoke too soon; they lost 4-1 last night. Jeff Weaver continues to struggle... :(

Well, the Angels won; they beat the Red Sox 7-4; the only down side is that the Yankees won, putting them into sole possession of first place in the AL East. But we're still in early June, so the Sox will have plenty of opportunities to catch the Yanks. Just as long as the Yanks don't finish in first or win the wildcard spot (like they did in 1997), that's ok by me.

My Expos are still the worst team in baseball :-\\

I really wish they would hurry up and get the ball rolling on the relocation process. Let them move to a city that would support them. The players deserve better than to have a homestand and look into the stands to see 3000 people.
