Subject: Question for Baseball Fans

Why won't they let Jim Rice into the Hall of Fame? He has the stats, what's the story? He
played his whole career in Boston, for that he deserves a medal.
:)

from looking him up it seems the problems might be either that he only had several productive years and that not everyone liked him much as a person

I know he wasn't the most popular guy, but where would Ty Cobb be if it was a popularity contest. I have
heard over and over that he has the stats for it but the media didn't like him. So is this whole thing based on performance(barring illegal activity...(pete rose), or are players with better stats passed over for players
who were not as good , but well liked?

I would vote he should be inducted. I always like him...and Fred Lynn :)
