looks like my kid falls right into that range too... and while I did watch the World Series and the playoffs, I don't recall anything being tied to that.

There's always baby boom urban legends tied to events like this (the blackout in New York for instance).  I know when we went to the hopsital for our walk around to see how things were laid out they had to post-pone it the first time due to too many people giving birth. We were rushed when we did finally get to go because they were at full capacity again.
