Tony Stewart just won the 2005 Nextel Cup! Tony now has his SECOND championship....this is why I call Tony THE MAN,he has the ability to pull it off by the narrowest margin..like he did in 2002. Congrats to "Smoke"(his nickname),crew chief Greg Zipadelli, and the rest of the #20 Home Depot team!

Not that I'm into NASCAR or anything...but congratulations anyway. :)

It was really close there for awhile points-wise(points count in Nextel Cup,not necessarily how many wins a driver has)...But then Jimmie Johnson,who was second in points, had an early exit from the race (he cut a tire and the car was damaged beyond repair) and then Carl Edwards, third in points, almost caught up gaining points on Tony...but all Tony had to do to keep his point lead...and win the Nextel Cup..was finish 19th or better....
