Subject: Rolling Stones half-time show performance at Superbowl

Written By: Carl on 02/06/06 at 9:26 am

As a big fan, I thought this was pretty entertaining to see the now 63 year old Mick Jagger still shake his stuff, as I put it. This is truly the band that never stops touring. Just curious as to what you guys thought. They still attract quite a legion of fans, young and old.

While I'm impressed that they still tour, they need to retire.

I heard their show was good though.

Well, I agree, soon they should consider calling it a day, but hopefully not before I get to see them live, which I have yet to do.

But yes, they put on a good show.

Rolling Stones are kick ass.  People that age showing the world that not everything has to be FRESH and NEW and YOUNG to be fun and entertaining.  Rolling Stones get my support 110%.  ROCK ON!

Hey, let's all hope at over 60 years old, we will still be able to move like Mick does! He has great energy, and their music is DEFINITELY 'kick ass'. Songs like 'Start Me up' and 'Satisfaction' are like their anthem. You can't have them perform live without hearing those two classics.

The Stones are like the original 'bad boys' of rock! LOL!! They will probably keep on going til they reach 70. I think one of them may already be  ::) But I like the older hits better.

Saw them on the most recent tour, God Keith looks awful.

If there was ever one individual I'd stick on an Anti-Drugs poster it would be him. He actually looks like he's been dug up from the ground, imagine him without make-up  :o

Still, I'll tell you right now, as somebody who goes to a lot of Live Shows, even in their 60's they put on a better show than almost anybody. Plus, Charlie hasn't missed a beat in 40 years  ;D

Well, Keith Richards looks like he's about 100

Yeah, tell me about it! He always looked 20 years older than his age.

Charlie hasn't missed a beat in 40 years

A great drummer!

For a second as Mick was running up the isles, It looked for a second like he was going to attempt to crowd surf! LOL!!  :D

I sure hope Green Day aren't touring when they're 60 in 2025.  ;D

No, but Bon Jovi may still be.  :D

I liked the stage design, their huge mouth logo was very fitting.

Do Bon Jovi realize that nobody's cared about their music for 15 years?  ;D

I think you'll have to speak for yourself there, at least with me, I've always liked them.

I have to hand it to them- sometimes I can't get out of bed and they do THAT!  I wonder if each has an EMT standing by!? :)

I never liked them...and I thought that the half-time show was very boring....you couldn't hear anything they were singing.....and I got real tired of seeing an old guy gyrating his hips every 5 seconds. ::)

I had a good time watching them rock, and you can be dang sure that Mick had some performance enhancing fluids in his system, RedBull supreme high octane. I usually never like the new stuff, I like the old stuff, and I liked what Mick said right before they began their final song Satisfaction.
"We should have done this song at Superbowl 1"  The other guitarist Ron Wood is such a good giutarist but doesn't get to showcase his talents that much with the Stones. You can hear his solos on Rod Stewarts Never A Dull Moment and Every Picture Tells a Story and his earlier years with Faces. If you like the guitar in the song Stay With Me, that's Ron. They're old, but their passion and zeal for their music keeps their hearts young. I loved it.

Mick moved amazingly, but I didn't think he sung too well.  I didn't catch the "dead man c*m."
