Subject: Boy, 8, hits two holes-in-one
Written By: Philip Eno on 07/16/06 at 2:54 pm
An eight-year-old US boy hit two holes-in-one with the same golf ball within 20 minutes.
Harrison Vonderau and his dad Dave were playing in a father and son tournament at a course in Cleveland, Ohio.
They both started screaming and jumping up and down when Harrison hit his first hole-in-one with his pitching wedge.
"We almost fell down we were so excited," Dave Vonderau told the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
"I never had a hole-in-one, but I was happy to watch his."
But they could not believe their eyes when he repeated the feat with his nine iron 20 minutes later.
"It was unbelievable," said Jeff Staker, the pro at the Newburgh Heights course.

I've read this story. It also read that the odds of this happening are 1 in 78,000,000 :o

The question I want answered is "How long were the holes?"

You know, I've been wondering the same thing. Were they, like, "regular" sized holes? ???

Technically, the longer the hole the harder it is.

Especially for an 8-year old.
Although I think this specific 8-year old would beat me hands down, even if I had a 6 hole advantage. ;D

What is the reckoning that the course was a Pitch and Putt course, usually where the holes are no longer than 90 or 100 yards?

I don't know, the story doesn't tell. It would still be a great achievement, I suppose.

Indeed a great achievement, for when I used to play, I lost a ball every other hole!

I've never played golf, only had a couple of hours practice during an outing with my former employer. It's not as easy as it looks on tv, but of course you know all about that.

But which holes?

I just found the course on Google Maps and the holes are short.
But I will not produce a picture of it due to copyright reasons.
