Subject: World Cup Baseball 2007

A bit late, I agree, 'cause it's already over. ;D
Anyway...congrats to the U.S.A. :) They beat Cuba (6 to 3) in the final, thus keeping Cuba from what would have been their 10th consecutive title.
Japan beat The Netherlands (5 to 0) and snatched the bronze medal. So, for the second time in a row, we ended up empty handed. :(
The most recent (English) entry on the subject I could find was this Wikipedia entry.

Well, no wonder if UK isn't playing.
Apparently, it's no breaking news in US either...No one has mentioned/noticed it (yet). :-\\

To think...Baseball is America's Past Time.
I think it would be cool to see a Hockey World Cup.

For a moment I was like..."...but there is! And we've won it several times!", and then I realised you meant ice hockey - not field hockey.

Sure is! Both the men's and the women's event. Try fieldhockey.tv for videos.
Last year's women's tournament was won by the Dutch team. :)
"Our" men ended 7th in their tournament - not a good performance.
Next tournament will be held in 2010.

Even if the UK did play we would not have qualified for the final stages.

Well, you never know...
I was trying to find something (anything!) on the performance of the UK team in regard to the qualifying stages of the WC baseball. I mean, I think they've at least tried to qualify... But I can't find anything. :-\\

There again, I am not sure if we have a national team. If we don't we could make the team out of ex-cricketers.
