I actually watched this game live on TV in Kansas City while on the phone for pretty much the whole second half with my brother, who was also watching it back in Nebraska. (You just gotta love free nights and weekends plans.  ;))

We were both going nuts, not only because growing up in Big 12 country we've always known what a powerhouse Oklahoma is, but more importantly because we have an uncle who at the time was a dean at Boise State, and we just knew he had to have been there. Naturally I called him the next day and he was still excited about it.

It was such a pivotal game in college football history because Boise State for years was having undefeated or one-loss seasons yet was being completely shunned by the bowl selection committee for being in a lower-tier (or mid-major) conference and this was their shot to prove that they could hang with the big boys, and they did so in dramatic fashion.

Thank God college football is finally getting a playoff in two years.
