Yup-that is from the Twilight Zone. That is Bill Mumy-also know as Will Robinson (as in, "Warning, warning Will Robinson") from Lost in Space. Others may know him as Art Barns from Barns & Barns of "Fish Heads" fame.

There's Bill Mumy with his real-life daughter Jilian in an episode of The New Twilight Zone called "It's Still a Good Life" where his daughter posesses the same power to put people she doesn't like in the cornfield.

The innocence of children is kind of overrated in my opinion. Don't people remember elementary school?  ;D

With that said, I do think the delusion that kids are innocent is a good thing, since it's most likely, a genetic adaptation so that adults are more patient with kids. I just wish people could extend that forgiving attitude to adults as well, imagine how peaceful and loving this world would be!

I know it seems related and all, but wouldn't all of this be more fitting to your movie news thread?

I agree, given the point that it's the 60th anniversary of the movie, and the third paragraph does refer to its film qualities. But what interests me are the points raised in the first two paragraphs. In this case, we have the outrageous view (at least given modern sensibilities) that an eight-year-old is capable of becoming a "cold-blooded serial killer." I think this makes the film even more controversial compared to some of the shows and movies compared to it in this thread, where behavior is simply based on meanness, driven by vice, etc.

I can't explain or appreciate the explanation for now (i.e., part of "Freudian influence"), but perhaps others can, and probably even use examples from other films or TV shows to do so.

The only other point to consider, and which may even make this topic more complex, is the ending of the movie.
