I just studied the American flag.  It has 50 stars, 1 for each state, and 13 stripes, one for each of the original states.  Cool

I used to have a book of flags when I was 5/6 that I loved reading over, and drawing some.

I was most infatuated by the Australian flag. Yeah, my mind wasn't very creative yet.  ;D

Huh. It's not something I ever really thought about, but I'm guessing you can find some pretty interesting facts if you delve into why the flag has this or that design.

I always pride myself in recognising flags, remembering which flag for which country. I usually have good practice of it during the Olympics.

A little story. When I was in New York back in October 2013, one of my places to see and take photos, along many other sites and locations, was the United Nation building and the flags on display outside, but on one the day I was there, all the flags had been taken down, maybe it was laundry day? A failed photo for me!
