Subject: Bee Gees

Tragedy is my choice, but I love almost anything by The Bee Gees

Gosh it's really hard to choose, I have been a Bee Gees fan from way back.  I chose "How can you mend a broken heart" but also love "More then a woman" and "New York Mining Disaster 1931"  Just too many songs to narrow it down to a favorite.  :)

I like them all, including the un-mentioned Spicks and Specks

Too hard to pick just one!  I picked "Fanny" - a definite Bee Gees favorite.  But I could've picked others.

I might've picked "Love You Inside Out", "Nights On Broadway", or "Run To Me".  I guess I gravitate towards the lesser heard ones or theirs.

Super-talented group, with so many great songs!  8)

My favorite is 'You Should Be Dancing'...but really I love them all!

You'd be hard pressed to find many more acts who kept up with prevailing trends like this lot...super talented, indeed!

My fave isn't here ('New York Mining Disaster'), so I'll choose one that is...'Run To Me'

Then again, I could choose the entire lot...

Come to think of it, how songs have the Bee Gees composed?

The answer is probably 'out there' somewhere...

I'd hazard a guess at somewhere in the region of 300+... :o

The Bee Gees also penned alot of hit songs for other artists, most notably ...

"Islands in the Stream", a US #1 for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton in 1983
"Chain Reaction", a UK #1 for Diana Ross in 1986 (Steps also took it to UK #2 in 2001)

also ..

Heartbreaker by Dionne Warwick
Eaten Alive by Diana Ross
Eyes That See in the Dark by Kenny Rogers

Too difficult to pick just one so I'll go with their first Australian hit "Spicks and Specks" from 1966

Choose your favorite out of these.
1967 - To Love Somebody
Holiday
Massachusetts
1968 - Words
I Started A Joke
I've Just Got To Get A Message To You
1970 - Lonely Days
1971 - How Can You Mend A Broken Heart?
1972 - Run To Me
My World
1975 - Jive Talkin'
Nights On Broadway
1976 - Fanny Be Tender With My Love
You Should Be Dancing
Love So Right
1977 - How Deep Is Your Love?
Stayin' Alive
1978 - Night Fever
Too Much Heaven
1979 - Tragedy
Love You Inside & Out
Don't Throw It All Away (Our Love)
Other

Probably easier to start by saying what I don't feel is essential from the above:

Would skip:

'Love you inside out'
Don't Throw It All Away (Our Love)
Love So Right
To Love Somebody

Now it starts to get tough:

Maybe next ...:

1975 - Jive Talkin'
I've Just Got To Get A Message To You
1971 - How Can You Mend A Broken Heart?

Of the remainders I definitely rate these:

1972 - Run To Me
My World
1976 - Fanny Be Tender With My Love
1977 - How Deep Is Your Love?

and the one's ^  not mentioned here, still like a lot.

Would definitely throw in 'Spirits having flown' into the mix, and also 'World' ... although that's mainly about the intro/first half of the song ....

Then there's a bunch from 'To whom it may concern' ... as my  alter ego has mentioned ...

I love them all, so I ticked other.

BTW, I like "Spicks and Specks" extra more (which is not listed)
