Did you know ...
... that though "21 Jump Street" was set in the US, it was filmed in Vancouver, BC? This is easily identifyable as in certain episodes, you can see several Canadian stores such as Alia, Fairweather and Woolco
... that there was somewhat of a casting error in the sitcom "Fraiser"? John Mahoney, the actor who played Martin Crane, Fraiser's father, appeared in a 1992 Cheers episode as a man who was hired by Rebecca to write a jingle for the bar. In several scenes, he clashed with Frasier, who was skeptical of the man's songwriting abilities
... that in the opening credits of "Taxi", that's Tony Danza driving the cab
... that James Darren, who played Officer Jim Corrigan in Seasons 2-5 of "T.J. Hooker", first appeared in a Season 1 episode as a man named Dan Danko. He would officially join the cast as Corrigan in the last few episodes of Season 2, thus he is give credit on the Season 1-2 DVD Box set

Did you know on M*A*S*H, Hawkeye originally had a mother & a sister and they all lived in Crabapple Cove, VERMONT! Then, his mother died when he was young and his sister ceased to exist and Crabapple Cove moved to Maine. :o :o :o
On Happy Days, Richie's older brother Chuck went off to college and was never heard from again. :o :o :o

That's the one that always baffled me. In later seasons, it was never again mentioned that Ritchie had a brother. Also, two different actors played his older brother. In the Happy Days TV Reunion special, bot hactors showed up and surprised Marion Ross ;D

Ashley Tisdale also auditioned for both the roles of London and Maddie, though obiviously got Maddie
Like The Fonz and the kids from "90210", Tisdale is in her 20's and play a teen on the sitcom

Fraiser's father, Martin was described originally as not only being a scientist, but also deceased.
In the show Fraiser, he's a police cop.
Ironically, the actor who plays Martin, is British.

Once the character of Fonzie took off- the producers thought he should offer big brotherly advice to Richie so they wrote Chuck off the show. In the finale- at Joanie's wedding Howard talks about raising his two children.

A lot of shows reuse actors. It's weird too because they act like we don't notice. Law & Order has used David Groh to play different characters (he's usually the one who dunit too).
S. Epatha Merkerson played a cleaning woman who's baby was shot in 1991 and then joined the cast as Lt Van Buren in 93
Jeff Kober was on Buffy the Vampire Layer... I mean Slayer ;). He was a psychotic homicidal vamp in Helpless (different from your normal everyday vamp) then he played Rack in later seasons when Willow was "addcted" to magic.
LQ Jones played four different characters during Charlie's Angels

Andy and Barney are cousins? It was mentioned in the first episode.
When John Amos guest starred on Maude his character was named Henry but changed to James when they spun into Good Times?
Sharon Gless was the actress producers always wanted to play Christine Cagney.
She didn't want the role when the TV movie was made and Loretta Swit was cast because CBS owed her a movie as part of her contract.
Loretta Swit couldn't take the series because she was commited to MASH & Sharon was committed to House Calls. They cast Meg Foster
When they offered it to her a third time she wasn't going to take it but they let her know House Calls had been cancelled so she signed on

on the 70s saturday morning t.v. show "land of the lost," the actor wesley eure (who played hunky teen will marshall) also sung that incredibly catchy theme song. "... on a routine expedition, met the greeaaaaatest earthquake... ever known!"
they overdubbed him over top of himself like dozens of times, which is why the vocals sound so rich on that.

Lenny Kravitz's mother played the part of "Helen" on "The Jeffersons."
Alan Thicke, the father in the TV show Growing Pains wrote the theme songs for The Facts of Life and Diff'rent Strokes .
Actor John Ritter was the voice of Clifford, from "Clifford The Big Red Dog."
TV's first toilet was seen on the pilot episode of Leave it to Beaver in 1957.

... that there was a major error in the show 'Full House'? In the first season, one of the episodes was when the gang surprises Joey by converting the basement into his own bedroom. Two episodes later, it still shows the basement as the garage, but in the next episode, Joey's room is back. Also, in every episode since, the opening shot of the house still shows a garage door
... that the episodes on the Season 1 DVD of 227 are not in order? The pilot episode titled "Pilot" (which originally aired as episode 6) tells of how Rose became new landlord of the building. The second part of the episode titled "The Sidewalk Sale" (which originally aired as episode 7) appears as Episode 11. Episodes in between mention the original landlord, and I kept thinking I missed something cause if the landlord is dead, how can he still be talked about in present tense?
This could be why the Season 1 set sold poorly. It only makes sense that the episodes should be in the order to which they originally aired, but then again I'm just a consumer, what do I know lol

I love William Daniels. He was on Broadway in the play "1776" where he played John Adams (and also did the film version of it, too). He also has done voice-overs on the History Channel, providing the voice for-you guessed it-John Adams. (His birthday is the day before mine).
On Happy Days, in the first season, the living room in the Cunningham house was totally different-as you walk in, the stairs were on the left. The following seasons, the living room got bigger and the stairs were on the right. But the outside of the house still looked the same.

In 1978, Jim Perry became the first of three game show hosts ever to emcee shows simultaneously in both Canada and the United States
In America, he hosted 'Card Sharks' (1978-1981) and in Canada, he hosted 'Headline Hunters' (1972-1983) and 'Definition' (1974-1989)
Alex Trebek was the second, as host of 'Battlestars' (1981-1983) and the Canadian series 'Pitfall' (1981-1982)
Geoff Edwards was the third, as host of a revival of 'Jackpot!' (1989-1990) and a Canadian revival of 'The New Chain Reaction' (1986-1991)
All Canadian shows must employ a certain percentage of Canadians in both on-air and off-air roles in order to meet the Canadian Content quota and to be eligible to recieve government funding. Jim Perry has relatives in Canada, and Alex Trebek was born in Canada, making them both eligible. Since Geoff Edwards has no ties to Canada, producers of 'The New Chain Reaction' employed local Montreal radio host Rod Charlebois as the announcer, and gave him a co-hosting role (something which is not usually done on a game show) in order to meet the Canadian Content quota.

Paul Fusco holds the record for playing the same character in more than one TV show (8 in total). As the character Alf, he appeared as a regular on "Alf", "Alf: The Anmated Series", "Alf Tales" and "Alf's Hit Talk Show" and appeared as a guest star on an episode of "Blossom", "Love Boat: The Next Wave" and "The Cindy Margolis Show". Both "Alf's Hit Talk Show" and "The Cindy Margolis Show" were syndicated series. The rest aired in Prime-Time
---------------------------------
Paul Fusco, George Wendt, John Ratzenberger and Richard Belzer hold the record for playing the same character on more than one Prime-Time TV show (6 shows each):
- George Wendt (Norm Peterson) and John Ratzenberger (Cliff Clavin) were both regulars on "Cheers" and together as their respective characters appeared as guest stars in episodes of: "The Tortelli's", "St. Elsewhere", "The Simpsons", "Wings", "Frasier"
- Richard Belzer originally played Detective John Munch in "Homicide: Life on the Street" and reprised the role for episodes of "Law and Order", "Law and Order: Trial by Jury", "The X-Files", "The Beat" and his current series "Law and Order: Special Victims Unit"
---------------------------------
Kelsey Grammer holds the second place record for playing the same character on more than one Prime-Time TV show (4 shows each):

---------------------------------
In 2007, Dennis Haskins appeared on "The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson" as Mr. Belding, making this the 5th show in which he played Belding. This succeeded Kelsey Grammer for the third place record for playing the same character on more than 1 show (5 in total). Kelsey holds 2nd place record for Prime-Time shows. Not all of Haskins shows aired during Prime-Time
Haskins regularly appeared as Mr. Belding on "Good Morning, Miss Bliss", "Saved by the Bell", "Saved by the Bell: The New Class" and made a guest appearance on "Saved by the Bell: The College Years"
---------------------------------
As Dr. Frasier Crane, Kelsey Grammer became the only actor to recieve an Emmy Nomination for his role as the same character on 3 different shows ("Cheers", "Wings" and "Frasier")
When Frasier ended in 2004, Kelsey Grammer had appeared as Frasier Crane consecutively for 20 years, tieing him with James Arness for the record of playing the longest role by a single actor on prime-time television. Arness played Marshall Matt Dillon on "Gunsmoke" from 1955 - 1975

And how many episodes did it take before we knew about Sondra, the oldest? I remember one episode (don't recall season, ep. #, etc.) where Cliff & Claire are talking about the kids (someone did something) and one said "Why did we have 4 kids" to which the other replied "Because we didn't want 5." THen, poof, there's Sondra on break from Princeton w/ boyfriend in tow.

Sondra first appeared in episode 10 "Bon Jour Sondra" The episode about not wanting 5 children is also the pilot episode. Along with my favorite quote "I brought you in this world and I will take you out!" Most of the pilot is based on Bill Cosby's Standup special Bill Cosby: Himself It was pretty funny. lol Thanks. Yeah, I saw the DVD....bought it for my parents back when there was only VHS. We first heard it on CD, so we could only imagine the faces. It was great to actually see the routines as well as hear them (plus we could catch all the stuff we missed laughing so hard during the CD). It was cool (and not at the same time) to recognize the routines and know what line was coming next.

Maybe because they ran out of material for the other kids and they were just getting on everyone's nerves (plus Cosby has 5 kids in real life)? I like to think that's why "Denise" got her "Different World" spinoff. BTW, can anyone tell me if she was actually on THAT show for more than 1 season?

A lot of shows reuse actors. It's weird too because they act like we don't notice.
In Season 1 of Diff'rent Strokes, character actor Jack Riley played three different characters. If you remember him in his recurring role as a patient on 'The Bob Newhart Show', then you know his monotone like voice makes him always recognizable. He played a detective, he played the new lanlord of the building, and he even played the head master in the Facts of Life episode LOL
