Subject: Girls/teens we love (70s to 80s)

Written By: KKay on 06/02/07 at 3:51 pm

At different times in the late 70s I wanted to be each of these girls.  Who do you love and why?
(I left out our beloved Kim Richards...thoughts of her are for someone else, not us.)

I like Kristy McNichol, cause "Empty Nest" was and still is one of my all-time favourite sitcoms ever

"Life goes on, and so do we.  Just how we do it is no mystery ..."

I said Kristy McNichol, I had a boyhood crush on Kristy when I first saw her on "Starsky And Hutch." Then
I watched "Family," though I never admitted it at the time, Just because Kristy was on the show. Kristy
played Letitia "Buddy" Lawrence, how many people knew Buddy's first name?

jodie foster sorta spooks me. she was always like this 40-year-old trapped in a preteen's body.

I've always had a bit of a girl crush on Kristy McNeil.  She is so pretty and always seemed so cool to me.  "The Pirate Movie" is where I first saw her - I was just smitten.  :D

Both of you are lucky, I was devastated to learn Kristy was a lesbian, now I know I'll never have a shot.
No matter, Kristy still does it for me. ;D

Don't know much about Tatum (never saw her movies), Jody's overrated, and not familiar with the other person...

I loved watching Kristy McNichol in Family. Remember when her and her brother Jimmy sang together? He was a cutie.

when i was a kid i had a thing for marjorie from "the great gildersleeve" -- it's a radio show from the 40s i used to listen to on sunday nights. she was supposed to be about my age (16ish back in those days) but it turns out when she was doing all that stuff she was in her, um, thirties or something. she went on to roles in movies like "psycho" and whatnot, but i totally grooved on marjorie's voice when i was a kid and it never occurred to me she might have been older than me.

lol. go here, zip up to about 2:45 and groove on some XXX marjorie voice-talent action. you'll have to hose yourself down afterward. (i'm kidding -- this is totally work safe.)

"i love spring! i love to see things growing."

omg.

Aaaah, "Little Darlings"; movies didn't get any better for a 13 year old girl.  Anyhoo, I chose Kristy.

Kristy and Tatum were both stars of "Little Darlings" 1980.  Tatum was so charming and she and Kristy were supposed to be "15" year olds ::).

I love them all....Jodie is more cutting edge,  tatum is a great tomboy, but kristy- she was never really acting.  just being her own, precious self.

Jodie Foster of course.  She was in "The Taxi Driver."

Kristy McNichol was in "Only When I Laugh"

Tatum O'Neal was in "The Bad News Bears" (no offense, Tia), plus her name sounds like a snack pack from Nabisco.

So, it's gotta be Jodie.
