I found a 45 RPM copy of Amy Grant's song "Find a Way" ("Angels" on the B side), with the picture sleeve in decent condition, the last time I visited a thrift store.

I slimed a sealed copy of the Cars' Panorama at a local thrift shop.  They had two of them.  Old Columbia House surplus...

And "Bomb Iran" by Vince, Vance and the Valiants on .45...

Funniest part is that you really don't have to change a word of it.  The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Call the volunteers,
call the bombardiers,
Call the financiers,
better put their ass in gear...

Of course, with Citigroup down another 5% today, and reliant upon the Saudis for capital infusions every few months, that third one might be a stretch... even if the Saudis (who are mostly Sunni) probably want to see the Iranians (who are mostly Shiite) exterminated even more than even the redneckest redneck from Redneckistan, especially considering that the resulting conflagration would easily spike the price of oil to $200/bbl.

They're on CD, not vinyl, but I'm definitely thinking that our foreign policy is best described as a triple-tracker of MC 900 Foot Jesus, If I Only Had A Brain, Adventures in Failure and The City Sleeps.  We've got the first two tracks mixed in, and we're just waiting for the third.

None unfortunately. I loved to buy and collect records several years ago, but the nearest thrift shop that still had them has been closed down for about 6 years now. :-\\

I have about a hundred of records...

Believe it or not, they can be converted onto CD. Though for good (personal use), not evil (bootlegs).

Vinyl Records blow CDs out of the water.  CDs are more convenient, but I'll listen to vinyl over CD anyday 8)

When you transfer vinyl to CD, you tend to lose some of that sound quality

I think an audio file that ran around 1200 - 1500 k/bps may come close to the audio on a good record.  The only way I can describe the sound of a record on a halfway audiophile set-up is warm, rich and crisp like a baked Alaska.  CDs can sound "tinny" but I do have more invested in my vinyl set-up so the CDs sound okay...

And although I don't believe in Jesus, I do have a tendency towards the ethereal and that is the ritual of vinyl.  Especially since I keep getting older and the world keeps getting more and more convenient, user friendly and hassle free.  I welcome some good old fashioned hassle which vinyl affords.  It's no chore keeping it old school...

Let's go have a beer, Dog...

Oh yeah, I left one off...

"(You're My One And Only) True Love" - Seduction.  This copy has different mixes than the one I purchased 19 years ago.

^ Loveland.  Too awesome 8)

I dig the Loveland record.  Very energetic.  Then again, I've always dug "Don't Make Me Wait". :)

The Brandmeier LP is in excellent conditions and contains the "Party Animals" track which is awesome. :D  He used to be a DJ for KZZP-FM Phoenix in the early 80's.

It sure is a great song.  Loveland vocalist Rachel McFarlane has a fantastic voice, but man alive is she ever scary looking today.  In the 90s she was cute, but age has not been kind to her ...

Rachel in 1994:  'Turn Up the Power' by N-Trance

Rachel in 2004:  'Take Me to the Clouds Above' by LMC vs U2

John and I went out to Rasputin Records (in the former Tower Records space) and I couldn't believe all the new vinyl pressings that are out there.  They had the entire Metallica catalogue on vinyl, the near complete REM catalogue, near complete Joy Division catalogue, near complete Talking Heads catalogue, near complete Motley Crue catalogue, near complete AC/DC catalogue among many others, and something that really suprised me - KISS Alive 2 LP.  I was never aware of these, even while searching online...

So anyway, I walked out with REM - Document and a breath away from picking-up the Germs LP...
