Subject: The male ponytail (as a fashion statement): 80s or 90s

I'm not talking about a guy just wearing a ponytail to keep long hair back, I'm talking about the wearing of a ponytail by a guy as a fashion statement. It seems to have been really big in both the 80s and 90s but I can't tell if it's more of an 80s trend or a 90s trend...What would you guys say? What years does the "male ponytail" seem to have been a fashion statement in?

I think of it as being early 90's, like the Comic Book Guy in The Simpsons.

I definitley say 90s more than 80s for that one

60's cool 70's not so much, after that I wouldn't tend to trust a guy in a ponytail/braid, unless he was Willie Nelson

I use to have a ponytail in the back during the late 80's-90 till my hair started falling out. ::)
