Subject: What were your favorite Saturday Morning Cartoons?

What were your favorite Saturday Morning Cartoons?

Some of mine were Bugs Bunny, or Bugs Bunny/RoadRunner show (which I'd palce as number 1 on my list), Scooby Doo, Underdog, Wacky Races, Josie and the Pussycats, The Banana Splits, HR Puff'n Stuff and Shazzan.

Since we do have a various range of ages on inthe00s, I'm sure there will be some cartoons I have never heard of before on here.

Was there anything better than waking up on Saturday morning, turning on the TV and watch cartoons while eating a bowl of cereal for breakfast?

Bugs Bunny (Warner Bros), Wacky Racers, Flintstones (were they Saturday morning?), The Roman Holidays, Scooby Doo, The Jetsons (again, were they Saturday morning?), Yogi & Co. (We're on our way to the perfect place...) and of course:

ROCKY & BULLWINKLE

I'm sure there is more.

I used to love this one called Kissyfur, about a father and son bear who escape from the circus and love among the forest.

I'd say my all-time choice favourite was M.A.S.K.  I had a bunch of the toys that were based on it and I played with them all the time!

Other than the iconic Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Popeye and The Pink Panther the others I liked were:

Captain Caveman
Grape Ape
Hong Kong Phooey
Tarzan
Top Cat
Secret Squirrel

You guys have mentioned a ton of my favorites.  Laff Olympics, Captain Caveman, Hong Kong Phooey, Speed Buggy, JabberJaw, etc.  I don't remember all of them on Saturday mornings but I loved them.

I would have to say my faves on Saturdays were Bugs Bunny and Rocky and Bullwinkle.  My dad and I used to watch them every Saturday together.  My dad loved Rocky and Bullwinkle until the day he died.  I think it is more the memory than the cartoons. :)

When I came home from school for lunch, my friends and I would watch Rocky & Bullwinkle. We would watch on particular cartoon,
Commander McBragg. It would air towards the end of the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show but we all had to see McBragg which means we
were usually a few minutes late back to school which didn't make the Nuns to happy.

http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSAgrI_n4Y4-NB10auF_A3ZfulWXUueW-t3AjXnA5kZRlA7KKikag

This cartoon(and the plush toys) were quite different and unusual for a cartoon which I loved. Each of the animal characters were half of one animal species and half of another. I still remember some of them:

Butterbear: Was half butterfly and half bear

Eleroo: Was half Kangaroo and half elephant

Moosel: Was half Moose and half seal

Tycoon: Was half tiger and half racoon

Rhinokey: Was half Rhino and half monkey

It was such a great little cartoon, and the plush toys were adorable. I loved it as a child!

I guess I'm one of the old ones for remembering this one...
...The Kroft Supershow.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGQoceK17zg

Y'know, after watching this, I was pretty horrified. :o
No wonder I'm so messed up now, this "show" was presented to children in the '70's as bona-fide children's entertainment. ::)

I'm not surprised that our parents let us get all jacked up on sugar infused cereals, that's the ONLY way any of this stuff would be tolerable or made any sense.

Gotta love the music to Dr. Shrinker though...
