Subject: Groovy And Other Cool Adjectives/Interjections!

Written By: CatwomanofV on 04/15/13 at 1:54 pm

Did any of you who were around in the '60s actually used the term "Groovy?" I never did.

These are the ones that I have used (and still use some of them)

-Far out
-Nifty neat
-Cool (or sometimes "Way Cool")
-Peachy keen (when I want make people laugh)
-Gnarly
-Gross
-Grody  (Sometimes I will say "Grody to the max")

I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them right now.

Who's next?

I wasn't even around in the 60s, and I like to use "cool" as an adjective as well as "awesome".  :)

One that is hot now that I can't stand is...sick! When I hear someone say, "That's sick man," I want to kick them in the nads.

Only used groovy as sarcasm.  How about spiffy, rad and bodacious?

"baby bubba" (used in the 70's)

"party over here" ( also from the 70's)

All the kids used to say "decent!" in the late seventies.

It meant superlative, excellent, or good news.  It sounds pretty funny in retrospect.  It's like saying, "Oh, man, that's wicked adequate!"

Speaking of, if you were from Greater Boston, you said "wicked" and "like" like a wicked lot!

"Wicked Good Bumpah Stickah"

:D

In highschool it was solid. The better it was the more drawn out the word became.
"Hey man, we're goin' to the pit and and torch some doobs." "Saaahl-it."

Oh and the occasional "Holy sheepsh$t!"

I also use "Peachy keen, jelly bean" when people ask how I am doing.
