I doubt Charles Schulz had intended for her to be a lesbian. They are kids, that's all. Marcy was her friend that's why they hung around together.

I said difficult to choose because Charlie Brown, Linus, Snoopy, & Woodstock are my favs. I like others, too but those four are my fav.

And, really Howard, the 'sir' thing has nothing to do with sexuality. I know a few lesbians and none of them are called 'sir'.

She's actually flirted with Charlie Brown before, although I'm not completely sure whether or not she has a crush on him(she could have been doing that just to see his reaction).
As for the "sir" thing, like the others said, it's not a lesbian thing.
While Peppermint Patty is a tomboyish girl, Marcy referring to her as "sir" is probably just an old hard to break habit.
